Well, lead me to it. I wanted to make my own bots for Neopets after seeing and using a few (you need an account to see links) so I learned how to code.
Educationally, morally, about life, about the world, about games, like
WHAT have you taken away and learned from Neopets?
For example, I've learned the meaning of a lot of basic marketing and economy stuff since i was a tiny kid on neopets
I learned to code simple stuff
I got to know an amazingly entertaining and active Pound Chat(past tense) that's just going down the drain nowadays
And I discovered clraik, a great community.

It taught me not to give UCs to my girlfriend. It's like the sweater curse lol
Honestly though, virtually all of my coding & graphic design skills were developed on neopets and other petsites. I would have never had any interest in graphic design at all if it wasn't attached to cute virtual animals. Also money saving skills, and my characters on neo gave me a reason to keep trying to improve my art.

THIS. I learnt my first HTML coding when I asked my mom how to insert an image into the guild layout. I remembered when i joined a guild and learnt how to make my first blinkies through tutorials and submitted them to the guild. That's about it. Was never a trader. :X
I once rejected a 1.9mil offer just because it's 50k lower than my asking price. It's silly. But it taught me not to be petty when it comes to trading

I've been drawing most my life but neo got me started in on digital art. Some of my first digital art was for the BC and art gallery.
I don't draw neopets anymore (except for $$) but I still do digital art for all my other interests.
Learned basic things about economics, and also a few things about people: if there's a profit to be made, someone somewhere will figure out how to get it. Don't count on people to carry through their deals. A "yes" is a "maybe" until proven otherwise. No reply means no.
Also learned basic HTML, met some RP partners, and my first art commissions were from neo many years ago.
There are people behind those computer screens who wake up just like you and me that have goals, dreams, things that they aspire to do and it's your choice whether or not to be nice to them or to be just another mean anonymous user from behind a screen.
It also taught me about buying and selling goods and inflation xD

I know how to code pet pages, user lookups and guild layouts. I've never tried coding anything off of neopets though haha.
The BD chat taught me one golden rule.
The internet only consists of men. All men are men, and all women are men behind usernames.
