Welcome to the forum! First off, glad you joined us. Our community is awesome, tons of people you will meet and become friends with if you'd like... we are all friendly.

Secondly, a guide to proxies... well here is a short simple one:

Get familiar with VPN programs. They are programs (like HideMyAss [paid + good quality service] or HotSpotShield [free but full of ads and is not the best]) that you put on your computer and they let you "mask" your IP address so you can visit Neopets and if you feel like cheating on a shell and you don't want it to be linked to your main account with all of your precious avatars, pets and trophies then it's safe as long as you don't use the VPN on your main.

It's probably best to do a bit of google researching on a VPN or just on the programs like HideMyAss and you're good to go.
