I ended up playing it... It's not bad... but it's sad compared to the quality of games we used to get. It's super easy to cheat on, as well.
But again, it's very much better than having nothing.
I guess I'm just upset everyone does not realize this JumpStart team jumped on Neopets knowing absolutely nothing (it seems) in regards to how Neopets works on the development/technical side and being able to maintain it like how the old staff used to. Again, props for exploring all departments of the game and getting the experience to continue, hopefully fully fix and optimize all departments.

Can I just point out that if they can't code a simple HTML5 game then that also means they can't code things that are far more complicated than HTML5, right?
I mean yeah the game is kind of fun and it's a step in the right direction. If not a technical one, at least one in concept in that it's playable via mobile device. And one could argue they are at least trying, which is kind of commendable (maybe?), but I think the one thing players want more than anything else is communication. The days of video game companies being super secretive and aloof have died. Constant updates and patch notes and informing your playerbase is kind of the norm nowadays. I just wish they'd accept it and stop trying to act like they're behind the scenes doing amazing things when they really aren't. Scrap the boring editorial which mostly answers dumb, pointless "questions" and release a development log they can update weekly. Even if they only fix one bug or correct one spelling/grammar error then at least they could tell us about it.
The game has been around for 17 years so this new game being so sub-par isn't really hype-worth to me.
Especially since the coding is copied and pasted from tutorials and the art assets are from rpg maker and the music wasn't even original.
And yet I'm still hopeful that the future will bring something new to the table. I don't know why I hold out so much for this silly game.
Just my opinion though. Feel free to ignore or disagree with it.
I'm just a grumpy old man that misses the good old days.
I'm not impressed with the game. Also the explaining text looks like it was made in a hurry and looks a bit sloppy..
I miss keyquest and habitarium
This is what happens when you outsource everything with no one to check the finished product, I think
Well... I tried to like the game. Tried.
*that's rough buddy*
