I tried playing the new game but I didn't get the point and it was boring. I feel like even my 6 year old would get bored with it.
Now I'm not surprised that JS stole codes, art, music, etc. They've done it before with new items. JS is very sloppy covering up their tracks or lack thereof.

theyve proven repeatedly that they dont give a shit about artists and this is just another example of it. i hope whatever interns they outsourced in place of the original tnt were worth it for the shitstorm this is producing.
like, just saying js, but if you want good artists and ppl who are gonna make content for the game ur ruining, theres MILLIONS of underpaid artists out there willing to work for u, and the fact of the matter is if u want art and assets ur gonna have to pay top dollar for em.

edit: *if u want assets for a game like neopets, ur gonna have to pay top dollar for em, because pretty much every artist willing to work for a petsite these days knows what neopets is. and thats something u accepted when u bought it.

I haven't checked the game out... But what's with all the hate? Everyone uses resources for their work... They left comments from tutorials.. That's actually better for them as they are still learning it seems and it'll be easier to go back and know what the code is doing, if they ever need to.
Not trying to go against all the negative comments as everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this is definitely better than nothing.

using resources is one thing, using resources you were asked not to use by the site u stole them from is something completely different.One might assume that Jumpstart purchased the commercial use rights for these sprite assets, making it okay to use them in this game, but one would be wrong as it is a direct violation of the RPG Maker useage agreement to do so.
u can say "hey its good theyre producing content" but my big issue, As An Artist, is that this is blatant disrespect of artists in their "production of content". you shouldnt praise people for doing nothing, or in this case, something at the cost of others' time and money.
i dont blame ppl for being happy that js is producing content, but rpgmaker already gets enough shit from ppl who use it in their games made in rpgmaker. also, correct me if im wrong bc i havent been able to play it yet for more than like 15 seconds, but theres no mention of rpgmaker being involved in the creation of the game? is there credits? is there anything suggesting this was made in rpgmaker so the use of sprites in this instance is allowed?
plus, given jumpstarts past behaviour with stolen/"borrowed" assets, its tiring. all game talk aside, this is just another example of them completely disrespecting artists, as they have been doing ever since they bought the site. they dont give a shit about us. dont praise them for callousness and doing the bare minimum at our expense. we barely get paid enough by companies like this as it is.
I think you're all forgetting Neopets games/content has ALWAYS been reskinned ideas and games from all over the net since the beginning.

yeah but they at least used their own art in the past. nobodys upset that this is a reskinned game, theyre upset at how it was reskinned. which is a violation of rules from the site they stole from. which isnt, like, some small site nobodys heard of. its literally rpgmaker. which, like i said, gets enough shit as it is from people using their product.
all were asking is they respect artists. they dont. its obvious. weve been asking them to for years now, but this is another example that theyre not listening.
edit: also, no, tracing a sprite and recolouring it is not "their own art". tracing is not "your own art". recolouring is not "your own art". none of this is their own.
It's pretty frustrating to play lmao it handles weirdly. My slick high score of 9 is something I'm real proud of lmao.

this has nothing to do w having balls lol? they wont listen regardless of where u post it they dont give a shit and theyve made that obvious.
also what isnt there to hate about this game... its stolen assets to make a sub-par pile of shit passed off as "content" and excused because "well, at least theyre making something!" as if thats good enough.
this isnt just blind anger man ppl are pissed bc - and ill say it again bc clearly u arent getting it - were sick of jumpstart shitting on artists constantly and getting away with it/ignoring criticism when it happens
though if youre happy with sub-par content made with literally no effort put into it then by all means enjoy it, but some ppl here have taste so... we might find it helpful to vent our frustrations.
