Suggestions, please.

Someone compromised my little grandsons acct. It is a Neopets Jr acct. We caught it in time and his pets are safe but a few really old retired items are missing from his gallery. Is there a way to secure a childs account? P/W & pin were changed but Email addresses are not shown and therefore can't be changed. I emptied out his gallery and placed all items in the SDB. Any other suggestions for keeping it safe? I can't see why anyone would target a child. Its sad.

Move any super rare items to a different account until you regain access to your email or can setup a new email for the account. They likely have control of it and could get your pin via there to take the rest.
Not sure how neopets jr accts work, but if you don't need an email or it's not visible to change then you should be safe as long as pin and pw have been changed.

Sad to see a little bit of "power" is getting to some people's heads, won't point fingers (but they should know who they are...) but seriously? Getting into a kid's account? -_-
Idk how nick/neopets jr. accounts work either but like I told you, you should be fine with the PIN & PW changed/updated.
If it was someone here I hope they return the stuff they took...

Neopets Jr is used when a child, under 13 yrs of age, creates an account.

Neopets Junior is essentially the same as regular Neopets, with all of the communication features removed. It is automatically set up when a user under the age of thirteen signs up.

This is what changing your profile info looks like. Note how changing your email is not an option on Junior.

But to further answer your question, yes. We have these ridiculous filters, and they aren't even there to protect children, unless you count kids who had COPPA permission forms signed by their parents.
