Cool Places to Visit in the US?

Hey guys, I'm going to go away for a few days (5 days all together, including flying days). Any recommendations for cool places to go in the US?
Originally, we thought about Portland but that was because we were going to drive. I'm not sure what there's to do in Portland lol. San Francisco is also a contender.
I'll be flying out of Vancouver, and we don't want to go anywhere seriously far.
I've already been to LA/surrounding areas, though I wouldn't mind going back there.
    Any recommendations?

They're too far for us to go just for a few days. We don't want to spend a ton of time on the plane.
    Thanks for the suggestions, though!!

Seeing things such as the Grand Canyon and such would be pretty cool. But yeah, Vegas is definitely somewhere you should go when you're of age.

If you like plays/Shakespeare Ashland Oregon is super awesome, probably my favorite place to visit in the summer.
San Francisco is definitely cool though, live near there and I love it! Great city. I could give you some tips of places to visit in SF if you wanted.
I also really like going to Disneyland haha and Laguna Beach is super cool place if you haven't been. Very laid back lots of surfing and art galleries.
San Diego is pretty cool too, La Jolla area is super pretty. More beachy vacation than city.
Seattle is another option? Never been but I have a lot of friends who live there or have visited and say it's really wonderful.
If you like more outdoorsy things I would recommend Sedona, Arizona, lots of hiking trails, beautiful rock formations, all the dirt there is this bright red color. It's a great little town. More dry desert feel.

    Sounds like fun

Travel tips for SF would be much appreciated! It definitely seems like where we might go.
I love San Diego but I've been before. Same with Seattle, I live only a few hours away from there so I visit there pretty often. I'd love to go somewhere where I've never been.
I will have to check out Sedona! I think we're mostly going to be tourists and explore cities, but if it looks interesting enough, it definitely could be a possibility.
    Thank you!
