So I was wondering, is there a way to transfer pets to another account other than pounding the pet and using a pound sniper to try and retrieve it?

Yup, TNT made a transfer option in where you can safely send one pet to an account or trade with a pet. All you have to do is go to the pound and click the middle door labeled transfer. You only get one transfer a month and an additional transfer every 2 years.
