Ghibli.... What was your first movie?

I think Spirited Away. It was definitely the first I saw in theaters (which, come to think of it, I haven't seen many).

I saw it on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim, and instantly got hooked (both to that movie and to Ghibli movies in general). It also ended up being the first one I saw in theaters as well when my local theater was showing it last year

I believe it was Mononoke Hime and I was like, 6 at the time. I was fucking Scarred.

Totoro and Kiki probably followed soon afterward but god, Mononoke Hime really fucked me up because I was (still am) a massive scaredy cat. xD I think I also watched fucking Grave of the Fireflies around that time too, who lets a small child watch that!! Huh!!!!!

My first Ghibli movie was Spirited Away! Then I instantly fell in love with the franchise and now my favorite one is Princess Mononoke. (But Spirited Away is a close second)
