    just heat up the milk on the stove? im sure it will taste alot better then the microwave.

    LOL well I just got back and nope, it did not go kaboom! OMGGGGGGGGGG milk for hot chocolate taste a lot better than water.

    Some hot chocolate mixes already include milk, so when you make it with milk it gets extra delicious .

    If the milk gets overheated it will not explode, but it will boil over (i.e., spill all over and make a mess).

    If it stays there for a very long time, that spill might actually burn. Don't ask me how I know these things!

    I think the longest time I had milk in the microwave was 3 minutes but nothing happened. But it was toooo hot

    It's best with milk, makes the hot chocolate much more creamy and tasty. With water, hot chocolate tasted bland in comparison.

    Now whatever you do, don't put honey in the microwave for a minute and then attempt to see what it tastes like once it is out. Last time I did that I had a blister on my finger the size of a pea.
