Yeah I'm just trying for a nice preventive measure ; w; my periods don't bother me. I just want to not have to worry about pregnancy, while also not having to worry about becoming some grotesque blob of a human from all the weight xD
Seems like you can't really have both luxuries though

tbh every single person i have ever spoken to with the implant basically said you have your period/spotting for 6 months straight and IF your body is adjusted to it it'll stop, but for some people it doesn't and they have to get it removed.
Thats like 6 different girls too
When it comes to birth control depo is by far the worst. I was told it can make you gain up to 30lbs and thats exactly why I don't get it. Low dosage birth controls are always the better choice for weight gain. Depos are also really difficult to come off of in most cases.

I've decided to try paragard
No hormones and easily reversible. I'll update this when I get it put in (hopefully next week)

Congrats on making your decision - I hope it turns out to be the right one for you.
I realize I'm a little late to this party, but I just wanted to say that I have Implanon (after having been on the pill for a couple years) and absolutely love it. I used to have really heavy, crampy, nasty periods but this has pretty much kicked my periods' asses. I found that when I restarted the pill after my week off, I would be hella moody, but I don't have that issue at all with the implant. I was a bit hesitant to try it because I read lots of horror stories about side effects and, frankly, I was pretty terrified of having it put in, but I wouldn't look back now.
I noticed for the first couple of months I would get some persistent headaches but they subsided after a bit.
Just my two cents.
[QUOTE=Cheese;527749]So I've been on the Depo Provera shot for about a year and I've noticed significant weight gain, primarily in my face and stomach.
My face

After
My torso

After
(I know both torso pics suck LOL)
But as you can see...I've gotten a good bit bigger. I've been exercising more to try and drop the pounds but I'm not losing any weight whatsoever, even with creating a huge calorie deficit and eating right. I have no idea how to lose this weight, if not by exercise and diet. My doctor suggested that it is mostly water weight, but I though water weight was what came off the easiest?
I'd like some advice from people who have taken birth control such as Depo Provera or any other hormonal BC that causes weight gain.[/QUOT
hello im BEDDOEDv's girlfriend, do u have the depo in your bottom because im on the depo and i've had it in my bottom and i don't put on weight
Still a total babe imo
but yeah I'm on Ava30 and it made me gain a bit of weight initially. Add antidepressants and BALLOON FACE.
It might be worth telling your prescriber, if only because they might have another option for you that will end up suiting you better c:
