Best way to go about Securing a pet?

The way I have had most success with is pounding it and sniping it with a pound sniper and than trading it onsite for a legit pet and than do the same thing and than let the "legit" pet you traded for sit for a while that may not be the best way but that is what has worked best for me

I'd trade it more then once if it's active, I've triple traded an active and they still went down the line and got it.
