Neat. My grandpa is diagnosed schizophrenic. He was a combat photographer in Vietnam. He was the one doing body counts and documenting all of the horrific shit, and it kinda messed him up. As it would any person I'm sure. But he carries on and lives a normal life, and never talks about his past. His case probably isn't as severe as some of the others out there so I based my answers off of his case specifically. It was definitely more serious right after the war, he spent a lot of time in hospitals and even had that shock therapy stuff that they used to do to mental patients. Now that hes in his 60s he has calmed down a lot. Seems normal, just old for his age and on a lot of meds for various things. There are other cases in violent schizophrenics that I would probably answer differently for as mental disorders vary from person to person and its hard to make blanket statements about how they should be handled.
