    Win32/Coinminer virus

    Hey clraik members

Mr friend just got a Win32/Coinminer virus and he doesn't know how to rid of it. He says his Anti-virus program wont get rid of it and he's tried many things. To all those who know about viruses and hacks like this: any solutions? Anything will be helpful. Thanks!

yea tell ur friend to do what reemer suggested, but if that doesn't work then he should backup his data and just format his comp.

Even better! Malwarebytes is probably the best free antivirus. Glad I could help.

I'm guessing Coinminer turns your computer into a Bitcoin miner?

I have no idea what that is, but no. I dont think so. He said it lags the computer down soooo bad. Like, moving the mouse will make 10 doppelgangers of the mouse on-screen. And, he's running a very stable compute.

That sounds like a bitcoin miner to me. I mine bitcoins (virtual currency) and it slows down my computer too. The person that placed the virus on the computer did it so they could earn bitcoins off your friend's computer. Basically, they use your GPU or CPU to solve a lot of computations and in return they get bitcoins which they can use to buy stuff.

So by hacking his computer, he gets free coins? That's pretty awesome O_O Is it easy to hack into someone's computer with Bitcoin? Because his Antivirus couldn't rid of it.
