Should the next pope be non-European? It wouldn't be the first time; according the list of popes on wikipedia there have been African-born popes before. As for qualifications, the pope just has to be a man and baptized as Catholic.

Personally, I think it would be an all right idea but not to be done rashly. I don't think there's an specific "time" for a non-European pope. The papacy shouldn't exclude good European Catholics just because they feel pressure to have a non-European pope. I mean it is a world leader position.. when the right non-European person comes along, then so be it. Your opinions?
