Admittedly the deliberation went fairly quickly and smoothly, but I allowed a grace period for any weird going-ons that might deter our choices, and luckily I did as one contestant was switched out with another do to a strange circumstance.
First, a message from my partner:
Overall, the applications we received were top notch, a single exception here or there. We want to thank all of you for your time and the effort you put into your applications and if we could, we'd love to work with all of you, but sadly there are only 8 spots available.
We had ourselves a good negotiation (..not even kidding, there was a tug-o-war going on for the final two spots) and we want to congratulate the 8 that made it -- and hope the 6 that did not will continue to gain experience in the selling industry as you all show potential. In general, the level of applications was so high, that while those we did not pick also sent in above adequate applications, the 8 that made it were just that bit better.
So, without further ado, the eight contestants chosen for Kylae's Apprentice!
In no particular order:

In short: Impressive experience description. Impressive application. Down-to-earth, a lot of potential and you gave us a good look at who you are and who we'd be dealing with. Your longstanding experience with Neopets and sales and staying up to date are a big plus.

Reese
Impressive. Considering your age, the way you portray yourself, your professionalism and your background, you seem like an ideal candidate to one of us, and like an all round good candidate to the other. Time will tell if you'll do as well as your application suggests you will.

Foxer
Interesting. Honesty, much appreciated. Your experience with corporate business is a plus, your history with Neopets is a plus, your confidence is a plus and one of us thinks you could be a very good working partner for them due to overlapping strengths & weaknesses. We think you're a very solid candidate.

Kay
Good history, good experience, a field of expertise the other candidates do not excel in. Being a team player, being very time efficient and precise were definite pluses, and on top of that, your confidence.

Layla/LittlePunker
Interesting application, well-rounded, good background, good references, good history. ..Basically just nice all round? We'll have to see how you measure up against the other competitors

Trinket
Actually much the same as Layla, your expertise in certain areas is a definite plus compared to some of the other competitors, and being willing to spreadsheet & work with databases certainly tickled one of our fancies in particular. O/T: Cute tiger, by th

Bots
Surprising, but very nice. Very well-rounded, nice application & good history/experience. What pulled you through is the potential you seem to have. Downside: The picture you added.. ..What =P?

Some times second chances can be the best things a person can get. I'm glad you get to work with us, and I hope to see big things from you! (Also, thank you for usurping me as oldest forum member, <3 you!)
Due to an irl situation (not a bad one, don't worry), I do not have a definitive start date for the contest, it will be in May though, I just realized something was going on May 1st and the contest may start about a week or so late, hopefully not later then that.
Also, all contests will be joining a Skype chat that will house some big players in our little industry to help you all along the way. So as soon as the eight contestants can, get with me so I can add you to the chat.
Good luck everyone! I'll keep the general public posted as to the start of the contest!
