Absolutely it should be, when 50,000 people a year are killed due to the Mexican drug cartels, innocent Americans murdered, farmers, it's a civil war, Mexico is almost lawless due to the civil war there.
Whether or not you are personally for or against it, government laws probably won't stop you or encourage you, at least open it up as a legitimate regulated business, more jobs, safer, less deaths, less government costs due to drug charges (which is the majority of criminal offenses). I can't come up with any reason NOT to legalize marijuana.

To be honest, I don't care if it is legalized or not. People are going to keep doing it either way, just like hard drugs.
however, with harder drugs there is legitimate reason for them to be illegal. With marijuana, there are really no reasons against it, its no worse than alcohol or cigarettes.

But, that could be an argument more in favour of banning/restricting alcohol and tobacco rather than allowing marijuana. Moreover, it wouldn't be unreasonable to say: We have 2 similar substances like this which are permitted already 1)One more would be too many and/or 2)That's plenty, why do you need more and where does it stop?
it would be incredibly stupid to make alcohol and tobacco more restricted, that would cost thousands if not hundreds of thousands of jobs around the world, which would hurt the world economy even worse than it already is.

I don't think hard drugs are good to be legal, im just saying illegal or not, people will still use them.
So I personally don't care what type of substances they legalized and what not.
I mean, people smoke weed all the time anyways.
I hear people bitching about how a cop pulls them over and take what they have in their possesion.
But I also think its good that cops take it, since why the fuck are they driving with it anyways?
Some people can handle being on it and doing their normal everyday life routines.
But others act like complete and utter morons and do stupid shit on it.
But you can't just use the economics of any given situation to justify doing X can you?
To a certain extent, yes. But I don't doubt that there are some people that would like to try harder things who either a)can't get their hands on them or b)are scared of the punishment and so are dissuaded by the law.

i actually think in this scenario you absolutely can.

But if something is immoral or harmful to people's health then surely it being economically right isn't enough to justify it?
(Also, please note, I'm not actually suggesting we criminalise alcohol or tobacco, just pointing out why I believe your line of reasoning to be flawed)
Alchohol and cigarettes should be illegal more then weed, it's like selling people death.
But eitherway, whatever is illegal will still get used
