Don't worry I hate sleeping in the dark too. My eyes always screw with me.
Also, at my old house I'd be laying on my bed when I'd feel something like a cat jump up or someone sit down at the edge of the bed, when I'd look no one and no kitties would be there. Happened often and it was always freaky!
