I don't speed up anime.. that's a bit weird :/ but if you're only aim is to get through them faster, I don't see the harm.
I watch anime at double speed with subtitles on to grind them out faster. My logic is that we read faster than we hear (since I don't understand Japanese).
When my friends watch with me, most get frustrated and tell me to slow down. Apparently it loses the dramatic tension when stuff is sped up. True, but I'd rather grind out more episodes than wait for dramatic pauses etc.
What do you think?

Kind of unique, I mean, I understand it...
in the world we live now, we gotta go fast
But I rather enjoy the episode by what it is and have my time to understand it
even if I can only watch a couple eps and it takes me longer to finish

I don't think I could handle that, lmao, but that's a smart idea if you're trying to cram more episodes in

If you're gonna do that then why not just read the manga?

I watch at normal speed, and actually there are times when at normal speed i cant keep up, not that im slow at reading, but the subtitles are long and the actual japanese words are so few that it passes before i can read it all.
I even watch the ops and eds unless i really dislike them.

If I find an anime too slow I just don't watch it. If I'm interested in the story I'll read the manga if there is one. Won't speeding it up mess with the audio (music, soundtrack)? If you do this with every anime you're gonna miss out on some amazing soundtracks.
I like this idea, actually. It's not something I'd do while watching a show with friends, but if I'm binge watching a slower-paced series alone, definitely something to consider.
I think I'd get bored doing that? Since it would take away some of the enjoyment.
But I admit to skipping or fast forwarding sometimes when things drag on too much, like when I watched Aku no Hana (Flowers of Evil) I skipped through a lot of the long dialogue-less scenes that would be like 20 seconds long, just walking or something dull. Appreciated how artsy it was, but not enough to sit through it all lol
