Plane on conveyer belt

A plane is standing on a movable runway( something like a conveyor). As the plane moves the conveyor moves but in the opposite direction. The conveyor has a system that tracks the speed of the plane and matches it exactly in the opposite direction.

The question is, will the plane take off or not?

nope, no wind is going over or under the wings, which is the planes actual means of taking off, since it is being still in relative spacial dimensions, it will not leave the conveyor belt

Yes it will. If the plane is sitting still, pilot steps on the throttle causing the engine to go.....Plane moves forward 1MPH, threadmill moves the opposite direction also at 1MPH.

So if the plane is moving at 1MPH, but the wheels are spinning at 2MPH, the plane still moves forward at 1MPH.

If the Plane gets up to 150MPH and the wheels are spinning at 300MPH the plane will still move forward at 150MPH.

Don't forget the threadmill matches the plane's speed, so if it was sitting still the threadmill would be off.

the engine powers the propellers, not the wheels, the more wind moving over and under the wings, the more lift it generates, the less moving, the less lift, if the plane is on a conveyor belt that keeps the plane stationary, then the plane cannot generate enough lift, so no take off

if the plane and the conveyor belt both move in tandem, witht he propellers dragging them both, then there can be enough lift generated




god damn it, i just re read everything, and it's confusing to me so i am dropping out of it, lol
