Anyone live in/near the Lake Tahoe/Reno area?

Seriously looking into moving there.
How's the housing market? Are jobs easy to come by?
Is it well-suited for a young family with a toddler?

I don't live there, but I have a time share there. It is beautiful there year round. I don't know about jobs/housing, but it's amazing.

We just fell in love with it and we REALLY want to move there. It would be a huge step...because we are currently on the East coast.

I live in California, but my husband deals in real estate. As far as I know, Nevada has a terrible housing market right now, so the houses are VERY cheap. You can get a decent sized house for pretty cheap. Definitely a good time to buy. As far as the area, I haven't heard bad things about it so I'm sure it is safe for a small family. Unless you are in Vegas or in the heart of Reno, there isn't much action in Nevada.
Not too sure about the job market though, I'm assuming it might be as bad as the housing market. I'd look more into jobs there before moving.
