Is anyone else going to attempt to play on the classic hardcore servers when they release?
I played my first alliance mage during SoM when they did the race to ragnaros and hit 60 but died before raiding.
I'm considering playing but it's a huge time sink so not really 100% sure yet.

They are re-releasing Hardcore classic?
I played normal classic for a while but dropped it when Phase 2 wotlk came out, just didn't have time anymore and raiding was so min/max i hated it.
Can't imagine getting to max level to raid just to die, seems like a huge time sink. Reminds me of those temporary Ark servers that lasted a month

Yeah, classic hardcore has been pretty popular and recently they announced there will be official hardcore servers late this summer.
I've played hardcore d2 and path of exile so I'm a bit used to having to delete all your time spent on a character which can be devastating.
However, if you enjoy the leveling aspect of vanilla then hardcore can be really thrilling.
I played my first alliance character to 60 and enjoyed doing all the quests available in each zone as everything was novel.

Holy shit is Hardcore an actual thing on WoW? That seems insane!

So insane that I would 100% watch that on Twitch

That's one game I thought wouldn't ever have a Hardcore mode. Considering most raids are "throw your corpse at it till you win". I'm definitely going to watching some of that this afternoon!

How do they go about Raiding? Are deaths in raids and PvP counted?

There isn't really much PvP but if you are flagged and die it does count.
In the new classic hardcore servers coming out they added /makgora so people will be able to duel to the death! Raid are as you expect...very tedious and slow until they have been on farm for a long time.
Apparently also a lot of flasks of petrification are used to drop party and live. There's lots of controversy about this.

There's absolutely no way I'd be able to do a WoW classic hard-core. Imagine grinding that back up to 60 that's insane!

Yes that logout macro is needed for path 100%.
I still ended up quitting hardcore PoE because one silly d/c and I'd die or I'd be zooming through everything and get one shot by something random.
Yeah it's hard to keep going after dying at 60. It just depends on how much fun you have playing and the refractory period between re-leveling!

Haven't done one in a couple of leagues because there's always been something else to play between D2R seasons and whatnot.

Yeah I used to do the same thing but at the fresh start of leagues to try and race to first to high levels.
I haven't played path in a really long time because the last few times I did there was so much new things to learn that got added from previous leagues I missed.
I would end up power-leveling and only doing the things that I knew and just skipping the rest which felt bad overall.

Only a couple of days to WoW Hardcore launch! :D Played on PTR as a frost mage which is probably what I'll do on live. I can certainly say permadeath (technically you can xfer character if they die to regular servers) changes the way that I level. Had a couple of near death experiences and even saved a couple of players from overaggro certain death. :P Just gotta stay away from overtuned mobs from certain quests. Blizz has data that the Kobolds kill more players than any other mob so far though they are rather low level. I personally hate fighting the Defias Brotherhood in the hills in south Westfall so I just avoid the southern area altogether. It's been rather fun since I'm not just chaining dungeons together to level and instead re-experiencing old quests. PTR was also good practice for when it goes live.
