Marvel vs DC [Archive]

comics and their heroes/villians

pick your side and explain

i choose DC, mainly because of the batman comics, not for batman, but rather for the main antagonist, joker, he is my favourite villain of all time, he doesn't want to rule anyone, he doesn't want money, he doesn't want possessions, he wants pure unadulterated chaos, the fact that he is driven by insanity and a compulsion to make everything turn into anarchy has always appealed to me

Ahh, that's always a hard question...
On one hand Marvel has Spiderman and X-men, both of which will always be special to me because there what got me into comics and superheros

But even with those two, I'd still have to give it to DC because of my all-time favorite antihero Jonah Hex.
I loved the back-story and the setting for him and when I saw the one 12 minute episode he got, it just drew me in even more.
And I think that's some pretty darn good writing and execution to be able to do that for a character who may not be as well know as others.

The only Marvel comic I really like is Spiderman. But, then, most everyone likes Spiderman. I liked Spiderman mostly for the antagonistic characters, though. If what I read/watch, be it a comic, movie, novel, etc doesn't have good "good guys" ... I don't like it.
DC, on the other hand, has Superman (whom I've always loved, lol), Batman, Green Lantern... my favorites.
So I'd have to go with DC. I'm not really big on comics anymore, not like I used to be anyway.

Marvel for: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Daredevil and antagonists such as Magneto, Doctor Doom, Galactus, the Red Skull and Kingpin

DC for: Superman, Batman, Joker, Rorshach, Green Lantern.

DC for the same reason as JLK, I've always loved The Joker. He was always my favourite villain, again for the same reasons. His actions have no rationale or logic behind them, he just does the things he does for pure chaos and anarchy, just to spite the rest of Gotham.

these two are always difficult to choose between, but i'd lean more towards Marvel because of x-men and the variety in powers there are compared to DC. however, this doesn't mean i don't like DC at all! i mean come on, Justice league and Teen TitanS!? they're both awesome. :watermelon:

I go for Marvel.

Personally, I dont like DC comics' heros at all (Saving for teen titans, wich I used to watch a lot)

Their heros are... Huh

Superman? Green lantern? Flash?

I dont see how they are amazing.

What I do really really like is, The Joker, as everyone. Other than that, I dont find any attractive to DC comics.

Yeah but on the spectrum of Marvel you get all around great characters who all have comics that are very interesting. DC is just soso and they all seem to face the same guys half the time

Marvel. I've never really liked DC much aside from Batman/Joker. However Marvel has a wide array of characters that I really like.

Because like everybody in DC has some traumatic experience so they must fight crime now.
Marvel some of them just do it for the fun lol and some just come out when there is big trouble or a challenge.
DC it is like the same back story with every person

Yea I love Batman, but other than that I have to go Marvel. Marvel is fuckin solid a lot of the time.

Definitely Marvel for me because of Gambit/X-men and the huge myriad of characters.
Although, I do love Batman.

It's really hard to choose because there are so much good characters in both comics. But because i like the flash and batman, I would say DC. In terms of power it is Marvel for me though... LoL

I know a lot of people prefer marvel because there characters are more relatable. I agree with this, but at the same time that's why I prefer DC. The characters feel like actual superheros, not relatable humans. I grew up with DC also so I'm biased (:

DC, hands down for me.
I`m a huge fan of the batman comics and movies, and I love all the cartoon adaptations that came out too. (Teen Titans and Young Justice, anyone?)

I categorize it as..
Marvel being kids and up.
And DC is older teens and up.

Personally, I love DC for the sarcastic humor in both comics and movies. Even TV.

But I have to hand it to Marvel's The Avengers. Still doesn't top The Dark Knight Rises, but it was fairly entertaining.
Always a fan of Tony Stark. ^_^

My overall winner is DC. :joyous:

Marvel. When I was younger, my childhood cycled around Wolverine so naturally I'm going to have to go with Marvel. Plus the X-Men series caught my attention much more than anything else... besides Pokemon.

i like em both equally...i love X Men and i love Superman and Batman. there's the avengers, then there's the american justice league. it's too evenly matched to decide. superman has to be my all time fav hero. but it's such a close call, i can't say i prefer one company over the other :). comics are cool.

I'm kinda torn on this question.
On one hand, I knew Marvel more than I knew DC back when I was younger. My favorites have always been Iron Man, Spiderman (Then again, who hasn't loved spiderman xD), Thor, X-Men, and not to mention they have the Avengers.
DC, though, has Batman, Joker, and Superman.
I think in all I've gotta go with Marvel. But DC is still amazing :)

The only Marvel comic I like is Spiderman. Always hated X-Men and the Fantastic Four.
DC's got the Justice League, and as a Superman/Flash/Green Arrow/Robin/Teen Titans fangirl, I lean HEAVILY on the side of DC.

Even if they do reboot and change origins like they're nothing every few years. :ulan:

DC. Obviously, I'm a huge fan of Harley Quinn, and by association, the entire Batman franchise. I love the billionaire, philanthropist, playboy mistique (also why I'm a fan of Iron Man.) I love Joker as a character, as well as other villains like Two Face, Raz al Goul, Penguin. Just a fantastic franchise. As much as I love the Avengers, Batman has my heart. <3

No contest really.. In my opinion DC's main heroes lack substance bar maybe batman and only because of the newer batman movies, lets hope they do something similar with the superman reboot.
