Do you have somebody on clraik you think is real swell? Are you too shy to say something?

Some of you have noticed we've had a new friend lurking in our midst. We're being visited by Cupid who, starting today, is happy to anonymously deliver all of your compliments!

They have a super neat system set up. There's going to be a thread that you can post to like normal, but the messages will first be delivered to Cupid, who will then post in the thread for you. You'll be able to tag people like normal so you'll be sure to grab their attention once Cupid posts. The hope is that you'll send individualized messages, but in the end, there's nothing stopping you from tagging multiple folks at once.

Now of course it's great to send gratitude and admiration to your friends, and we want you to do that, but we hope this is also an opportunity to show some appreciation and cheer to people you might not always talk to! Maybe you've felt too shy to compliment somebody on their killer memes or ryu art or just posting a lot of interesting content! Now's your chance! Little things like this can go a long way to feeling appreciated.

Things to consider:



If you know somebody off-site, be sure your compliments don’t include personal information that could be connected to real life or neopets identities
For instance, if your friend makes amazing characters or moonlights as a jazz musician and you admire them, but they don’t share that side of themselves on clraik, leave those details to your other spaces.

Also be mindful of how you phrase things, we might all love to tell your friends "You're a stinky baby (affectionate)" or maybe "shut up, assclown" is an inside joke. If the message is questionable, it might not be posted. While the messages will be anonymous, we will have a way of checking the posters of anything particularly egricious. Anonymity is a privilege – don't abuse it.

The messages will be public, so don't write anything you don't want the world to know even if your name isn't attached!

Thanks so much to Bat for creating another great one. This one is particularly lovely (pun not intended). As sort of a mirror to this event, this will allow you to post signed messages to your friends that will display in rotation so long as they have this userbar active (but the messages will not be lost when inactive, so fear not!). It's our way of saying thank you for spreading the love.

Hello, all, that’s a wrap on the Cupid event!

First off I want to say a big thank you to j03 and Bat for helping me set up all of the logistics and making this all function to begin with. Also big thanks to our amazing moderation team Flordibel and Mama Bear (we’re gonna miss you!) for helping to keep the stream going. They were all so helpful and instrumental in keeping this event up and running. But importantly, I want to thank each and every one of you who submitted messages. Whether you sent one message, or twenty (or more), none of it would have been possible without you.

About 24 hours after the launch I took a few notes down. I was not at all prepared for such an enthusiastic and immediate reception this got. I was honestly overwhelmed by the kinds you all shared and was kind of teary-eyed (in the good way). I’d had some participation goals I worried might ben ambitious for the entire event, but we ended up seeing them in the first couple of days. In the end we had over a hundred members sending a total of over 1250 messages.

I have a lot of love for this community and I’m not sure just how much I can express how wonderful it felt to see all of this love and kindness between all of you. Also, remember that just because the event is over, doesn’t mean you can’t keep the positivity going (anonymity might be a bit harder, though).

One last time, big thank you to you all!
