hey y'all!! hoping to find a few more people who are actively in acnh hell. what are you guys currently working on on your island?
i'm in the middle of redecorating and terraforming the majority of my island. currently taking a break to do a bit of villager hunting since i had molly move out yesterday orz

I just opened my switch to see i had left myself outside of Redd's from yesterday or the day before and never got a chance to see what he had. I have an empty lot today but no idea if I want to bother with villager hunting.

I've been doing some very low-effort terraforming. Like it's been weeks and almost nothing has changed. I "temporarily" moved my house like four months ago.

i have used about 80 tickets so far today and havnt found who i want yet. i do not blame you for not wanting to villager hunt lmao.
i wish there was the option to let your friends mess with your island. i'd come spend hours terraforming for you ;n;

I ended up staying on a mystery island overnight and finished up my on-hand tickets while drinking coffee, for a total of 52 tickets, but didn't get anybody I liked, so ended up with just a random villager coming it (Kody).

Congrats on finding who you wanted, but holy hell that is a lot of tickets.

I recently got Judy though a few tickets like 10? I was so happy. Luckily I bought my biggest dreamie Marshal from a card crafter seller. Right now working on my front yard, living in apt makes me wish for gardens of flowers and a gnome or two lol

omg, do i have something cool to share with you... im not sure if i'm allowed to talk about websites where you can buy shit, but check out extremerate. you can literally buy replacement shells for your switch/joycons/pro controller etc. i'm pretty sure they have a transparent purple option too!! i've been wanting to mod my switch and other controllers for a longgg time, just have been to lazy to bite the bullet and give it a go lmao.

i have been neglecting my island the past week or so due to being busy with starting the moving process irl , but i am hoping to get back into the groove soon. i have so many ideas for builds i want to do - currently working on a layout for an outdoor cafe for Marty and Stitches. :love_heart: also planning an outdoor gym area for my two jocks, Lyman and Tad! super excited to get the ball rolling on it.

Recently picked it up again because I decided there are other villagers I want and it’s Phoebe’s time to go but she WON’T LEAVE. All week I’ve been doing the time travel / get into daily thought bubble situation, and FOUR times now the bubble’s been on her and then it’s been about something other than moving. I’ve been ‘confirming it’s real’ when it’s on others by going into buildings & seeing it still there, she isn’t my newest villager, we’re friends and I got her photo... I don’t understand why it isn’t working. I’ve gotten as far ahead as September now twice. I just wanna mystery island hop ;-;

A few! I’m at the point where if I was more certain I’d just order an amiibo to get it over with lol, but I’m undecided between several and I haven’t done a hunt in ages.

I’ve been toying with the idea of overhauling my layout again, previously I had made it in mind with sharing with another person who now has a switch of their own. So I divided up my island accordingly, although I put all the work into organizing a rather rough layout that looking back at it now I’m unsatisfied with.

I'm currently overhauling my layout too, so I feel your pain! I'd definitely give it a shot if you wanna put the time into it. I found that making a little map for myself irl and planning where things were going helped a lot with the process!

Thankfully my island’s all leveled out so it won’t be too taxing having to tear everything down, it’s all just a matter of relocating and sampling small areas before I commit. I do have some inspiration from browsing the ACNHDesign hashtags on social media, I hope to one day make an absolutely stunning island too!!

I only haphazardly boot up ACNH now[Either to redecorate on a rainy day or to pass time] I do wish they added in more content from the older games(....how I long for the original AC when villagers were more real) or gave us better updates as the game still feels unfinished compared to past generations.

When they add the DLC[assuming that's happening at E3], I'll definitely play more and help again with adding in edizon codes

I agree, I feel that there may be some news unveiled at E3 this year although I can’t say for certain. I’d love to receive the same love and attention that pocket camp receives in updates, there’s so many exclusives that I’d adore having in new horizons… I see that they just implemented a city feature which makes me wonder if there’s a possibility we’ll be seeing Serena again!

It did take a few years for us to get a big content update to new leaf with welcome amiibo, so here’s hoping!

I haven't played acnh for a few months now. I managed to get to a point where I was happy with my island, but I think because I spent so much time terraforming, I burnt myself out of the game and now I feel weird going back unless I consider resetting :(

I remember before I started terraforming, I wanted to restart for the longest time so I chose to terraform instead hoping it'd ease that feeling. It hasn't :/

I reset my island a few months back, and honestly it's the best thing I've done. Daunting definitely, but it's fun to play the game again and pass all the little tasks and get up to terraforming again. If you reset and need anything, please please let me know. I'm more than happy to help <3

If you loved Neopets, I bet you’re gonna love Animal Crossing!

My tip would be to watch out for Gulliver on your beach shores, helping him out will give you rare items you can trade for a lot of nook miles tickets. Nook miles tickets would probably the currency for trading in AC. You can also watch Twitch AC treasure island youtubers as they normally have a lot of items you just have to be one of the first to visit their treasure islands 😊 My tip would be to take the villager photos as those are harder to come by and sell for more.

I've just done the houses in Happy Home Paradise so that I can decorate my villagers houses on Animal Crossing! It's a fun game with use of treasure islands and time travel! Was able to use nook miles to find my 10 dreamie villagers.

I was addicted to Animal Crossing up until I got back into Neopets and now I can't muster the energy to even turn my Switch on. Which sucks because I never spent money on ACNH and I spend all the money on Neopets. Bad habits, lol.

But the last thing I was working on was a pastel goth kind of island. I had made some really cute designs but I just never finished it. I'm also bummed there's not gonna be many more updates, if any. Hell, I'd pay for new items.

I got all of my dreamies (thanks to a discord channel that botted them) and then I got my island to look just the way I idealized from the beginning and... yeah, that was it! haha

I got the DLC and that's what I burn my time on occasions I do not have anything else to play, but I must say even that sometimes feels a bit too repetitive and tiresome to me.
Some of the pictures in here are super lovely and make me want to hop back inside in order to take some and share later, hahaha

I took the initial NH release delay hard and I spent a few months playing New Leaf, I even got into custom firmware so I could hack my game while I was in it. I think it might be time for me to go back to NL or even try out WW, I'm just so tired with how bland NH feels a lot of the time.

Or I could flatten my island and rebuild from scratch. I don't want to reset because I have 2 years of DIYs, but my island has been basically the same since launch.

Yeah, I don't think resetting is ever the answer, lest you wanna spend hours going to hacked islands and cataloguing everything again, or doing it the canon way and building the wall of china + popping balloons for hours with no end in sight.
Rebuilding sounds challenging, but I wish you good luck if you do take that path! Speaking of paths, just remembering how tedious laying them gets I suddenly don't wanna remodel my island anymore, woops lol!

This is my problem. I want to start a new island but I don't wanna lose all my DIYs/items. Flattening is an option but I dunno if I have the stamina for it haha. Plus I want the endorphins of new islanders! None of mine have asked to move for ages and I'm too lazy to do the time travel eviction :rolleyes:

I only started playing this games in he last 1-2 years. Still working on completing my Museum with all the bugs/sea creatures etc. Still need a Scorpion, just see them too late and get bitten or they jump into the water before I can net them haha. It's quite comical at least :)

If I planned better, I think I would have did my island without the villagers first and then make room for them as I build. It costs bells to move the houses each time and I feel like I spent a crap ton just moving them around =P

Oh man, seeing that this thread is pretty active, it makes me want to get back into ACNH.
Last thing I remember doing before I stopped playing was doing a major reconstruction on my entire island.
Before I had all the homes in one area as neighbors to one another, but with my remodel idea I had in mind, I wanted to section certain villagers in "themed" parts of my island.
That way it would create more foot traffic of me going to every part of my island, rather than just keeping myself sectioned off in certain areas.

I'm also willing to help with any items if anyone needs anything! Not sure how much I have though tbh been a while since I played regularly.

I have found out that specific niche items will sell for like 10 nook tickets each and my life is changed forever. New leaf was NOTHING LIKE THIS. my mind is blown. This game is amazing. Even my partner is hooked now that we discovered nookazon. 10/10

Cats are the hardest villager to grind for so you really had to put in some serious effort. My partner is going nuts on nookazon trying to get nook tickets to grind for Anhka and Tia.

I'm pretty sure it will, I feel like I remember people complaining that they didn't know this happened after gifting an ugly item, but might want to double check with somebody who has played more recently.

AFAIK it still does but if you have the DLC, you can just remodel their homes once you complete enough projects and have high friendship with them!

They do!

If you just want to raise their friendship, you can give them a wall mounted item OR Fruit (that's not native to your island).
Fastest way to gain friendship is to wrap a fruit in gift wrap. Gift wrapping gives and extra point to the gift. They "eat" the fruit, so no items appear in their house!

Yes! I think fossils are under the "furniture" category, and that is the highest. I also think they dont put it in their house, so we dont need to worry about them putting it up lol
Fruits work best for me, as I can get a ton of fruits and give them to each Villager each day. We only get about 5 fossils a day, so that would only lead to 5 Villagers );

But if you got the Photo from a good amount already, then Fossils/Wall Furniture will be the best to do (Just be sure to wrap it for that extra point)!

Im a fan of the fruit method as well!
Any fruit that wasn't originally part of your island when you started can work for this and its wonderful lol
I have so many different tree's planted because of it.

Its also a pretty decent way of making some bells too!

Oh my! I was playing legit for awhile, but started to Time Jump after awhile due to wanting to move buildings lol
But the fossils really are a bother at times lol I like them for the bells!
Its great that we get them right away! Remember from the GC one where we had to MAIL the fossil in and get it back the next day? Just to be told it was one that we had 100 of already LOL

Man, I definitely need to get back into playing this game. :cold: I mostly put it down because I got my dream villagers (all squirrels + Raymond) and I was getting a bit burnt out from constantly doing construction. Overall, I like how my island is currently designed, but I really want to re-create my villagers and make an area that lets me give them each yards. :)

A task like that would require me to deconstruct their current living area and rebuild it, but whoo baby. :crushed: The thought of all that work put me off haha.

TWINS! I have... SO MANY FLOWERS on my side of the island and I have no idea what to do! Tons of hybrids and even some Gold/Black roses LOL

I recently started playing again, my biggest issue with my island is that my resident services is so close to the entrance like right in front of it and every time I switch it up again I'm always struggling to figure out what to do with it. I am so tempted to just restart to get some entrance space but theres over 1000 hours in that game I can't bring myself to do it (yet)

I restarted my island twice in the past few years and I really miss the villagers I had in my first save. It's to the point where I have no motivation to play and grind out the tickets/bells needed to get going again. What have I done.

They have treasure islands on Twitch I think you can have any villager you want inserted onto your island!
But also if you dont wanna do that, I'm happy to come visit and drop you off all the bells and tickets you need just let me know :)

Its actually a pretty relaxing game.
When it first came out, it felt so calm. I remember having my island look so wild and even remember most of the original layout! Tbh, I miss having it look the way it use to as it felt more... like an island LOL
I still love what I did and how I made mine look though! Just kind of wish I could do it all again and leave most of it alone.

Since Im home more often now, I get to play and enjoy a bit more and just go talk to my villagers

I restarted about a month after the game released and then had my daughter.

According to Melba, it's been 2 years and 11 months since I left. My island was hot garbage, all of my favorite villagers moved, and I'm poor AF. My Nintendo online is over and I can't steal from my brother's island.

I razed the entire thing to the ground over the last 2 days, I'm moving all my buildings and I found a layout online that I like.

I'm just going hard on landscape and infrastructure for now. I'll worry about paying off my house loan later. I just need this dumb rock to not be awful for now.

Someone convince me to get back online. I need to be able to turnip hop for good prices.

Also I found all my amibo cards for my baes. The good ones will be moving back in whether they like it or not.

I miss animal crossing. I need to get a new nintendo switch or some other console I can play it on. I didn't realize how much it distracted me and helped me through my obsessive thinking from ADHD. Do they have it for the pc? Well I could google it ... runs off to check because if they do I am going to get it on pay day.

Those are beautiful palm trees. It looks like a beautiful path to walk through. I love the creativity of the game. I tried to play it without changing the clock forward but its kind of slinked when i finished everything I could in a day, and it wasn't long enough.

I didn't get a chance to really get into it. Someone stole my switch when they were visiting our house. They are no longer allowed in our house, and I am cordial if I see them. My husband's youngest child's mother. We try to limit contact with her. Their child is 26 years old now. But she wants nothing to do with her mother right now and I don't blame her.

Can't blame you for not letting them in the house anymore, a switch is a really big theft, did she confess or did you catch her. I won't speak to the people who stole my collection a decade ago. But there's a lot more reasons besides theft. But I know what you're feeling cus man have I been there before.

Any chance you could get a new switch and keep the thieves out? You should still be allowed to enjoy yourself even if someone stole your stuff.

The switch itself wasn't working I just gave her the cartridge for the game. It wouldn't charge, it was over heating constantly and shutting off I have no clue what she did to it.
I new it was her and when he found it at her house i new for 100% no doubt there was no denying she did it. I really dont like her at all. I cringe if she shows up unexpectedly I have slammed the door in her face countless times. Stating if this is not about your daughter and it's an emergency you have no reason to be here at all.

After playing Animal Crossing New Horizons on and off, I've been working on trying to clean out my storage and island. Finally clearing my storage from all the DIY recipes that I'll probably never give out. :(

I do wanna give New Leaf a shot again through emulating. I'm sad to hear about Nintendo EOLing online play for 3DS, but hopefully setting that up on Citra isn't a pain haha.

At the moment I'm working on a garden area and tidying my island as it's overrun with flowers. Seriously so, so many damn flowers. And I've got nobody to blame but myself for letting it get so out of hand lol

I love ACNH so much, but got burned out playing it too much haha. I've been playing the game version, pocket camp for a few years now. On and off but mostly on. It's decent, and kind of fills the hole.

I haven't opened the game in a year: Pokémon Scarlet/Violet completely stole my attention, and I also burnt myself out playing it too much since its release in 2020. I'm dreading opening the game now because I'm certain my island is overflowing with weeds, which I can't be bothered to deal with, be it through manual picking or waiting for Leif to show up on my island so that I can get to use his weed removal service.

I'm totally still up for talking about the game, though!

I actually hadn't opened my game in nearly two years. I'm just not much of a designer although I love seeing how creative others are. I'm just more goal oriented I suppose. Would rather finish up all the tasks and have an efficient island. My mother, however, has I believe over 2000 hours in it and has no signs of slowing down. She's had it less than two years so that averages out to about 9 hours a day!

I really need to get back on and finally finish making my island all terraformed and fancy... Just wish they would've added some quality of life changes with the final DLC :( Like a little icon or gauge estimating the wear and tear on your tool (like in Minecraft) or a little icon to symbolize you already own a piece of clothing or furniture. Bleeeeh

Been tempted to whip out the old 3DS to play New Leaf cause at least I could hack it and do all sorts of silly things hehe
