The "Under Your Skin" thread has been moved to the SPAM section!

Hello clraikians!

You may have noticed that the "Under Your Skin" (UYS) thread ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) has been moved to the SPAM section of the forum. This is its new home now, and we hope you will prepare a smashing welcoming party! Here's a few quick questions and answers regarding this move:


Q1. Okay but why
A1. The Under Your Skin thread is, by nature, a negative thread. But it is a popular thread, and many of us use it as a daily Neopets News source! We wanted to keep these historical posts and discussions around, but we also don't want to reward negativity, and don't consider it a suitable reflection of our community's mindset.


Q2. SPAM is an off-topic nature by default. Does this mean UYS is now a free-for-all with regards to discussion topics?
A2. Yes and no! This thread can now include any sort of "tea," drama, memes, discussion, etc., but all posts still need to abide by the clraik Official Rules ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), and we do still require screenshots of Neoboard happenings.


Q3. Are +rep and Thanks going to work the same as they did in UYS?
A3. +rep is Neutral in the Under Your Skin thread, and Thanks do not increase your Thanks count. There will be repercussions for users found to be circumventing these limitations, as the thread is built this way intentionally.

If you have existing +rep or Thanks counts from UYS, those will remain the same (nothing is being removed from you).


Q4. SPAM doesn't count posts - will my existing post count from previous UYS posts remain the same?
A4. Yes! All existing post counts and history will remain, but going forward, you will not get any post count increases from posting in UYS.


Q5. Is UYS still only viewable to registered members?
A5. Yes, the Under Your Skin thread is still only viewable to registered members! It was restricted to logged-in users a long (long,) time ago in an attempt to prevent anonymous visitors from crawling it to cause trouble.

Thanks for the update! Part of me wishes the rep was case by case - I get not wanting to allow rep for shade, but I’ve both given and received rep in there in the past for posts that were genuinely helpful and positive. I’m sure that’d be too much to mod though so fair enough

I find the thread generally very neutral in terms of the fact they call out people based on their actions. People who act brashly against those said OPs are also called out. In general if a person is being highlighted many times it just goes to show that their actions aren't always the most righteous isn't it? ;)

That being said, I find it a great outlet to share honest opinions because you can't say shit on the neoboards without either getting silenced, or having the OP report you for harrassment. This is a way the bullies can keep themselves up there - and the UYS thread helps people be more aware.

I think it's utter bullshit. I once called out someone who reports pets to get reversals (the person admitted to it) and I ended up getting a warning for speaking the truth. Fortunately, a few people saw my post and even neomailed me asking about it, thereafter cancelling their pending trades with said person.
