TOOLS
Fishing Rod
Flimsy: After Tutorial Day, go to the DIY workshop that Tom Nook offers
Regular: Pay off tent bill (5000 miles), then purchase Better Tools recipe book from the Nook Miles store
Golden: Catch every fish in the Critterpedia
Bug Catching Net
Flimsy: After Tutorial Day, go to the DIY workshop that Tom Nook offers. You will receive recipe after the workshop
Regular: Pay off tent bill (5000 miles), then purchase Better Tools recipe book from the Nook Miles store
Golden: Catch every bug in the Critterpedia
Slingshot
Regular: Purchase from Timmy for 300 Bells
Golden: Shoot down 300 balloons
Axe
Flimsy: After obtaining the rod and net, show Tom Nook at least 2 creatures
Regular: Pay off tent bill (5000 miles), then purchase Better Tools recipe book from the Nook Miles store
Golden: Break a total of 100 axe tools. Flimsy axes are the easiest to break
Watering Can
Flimsy: After obtaining the rod and net, show Tom Nook at least 4 creatures
Regular: Pay off tent bill (5000 miles), then purchase Better Tools recipe book from the Nook Miles store
Golden: Reach 5 star island rating
Shovel
Flimsy: Will receive from Blathers once he comes to your island (Show Tom Nook at least 5 creatures)
Regular: Pay off tent bill (5000 miles), then purchase Better Tools recipe book from the Nook Miles store
Golden: Help Gulliver on your island 30 times
Vaulting Pole
Will receive from Blathers once he comes to your island (Show Tom Nook at least 5 creatures)
Ladder
Pay your first loan. Build Nook's Cranny. Build a bridge. Start work on the three villager homes that need furnishing. Tom Nook will send you recipe for a ladder
BUILDINGS
Museum
Show Tom Nook 5 critters for Blathers to come to island. Show Blathers 15 additional critters (Fish, Bugs, or Fossils), and he will begin construction
Nook's Cranny
Pay off your tent loan to Tom Nook, then build your house. Next day, go into resident services. Timmy will ask for your help to build Nook's Cranny. This requires 30 iron nuggets, and 30 of each wood. Upgrade by spending, or selling, at least 200k Bells at the store. They also have to be open for at least 30 days on your island.
Able Sister's Shop
Once Nook's Cranny is built, Mable will visit your island random days of the week (and also on Saturdays and Sundays). Spend at least 5000 bells, and you'll be able to build her store on her next visit
Upgraded Resident Services
Five villagers, in total, must be living on your island
Campsite
Resident services has to be upgraded. Tom Nook will ask you to raise the island's popularity. First thing he'll ask you to do is to build the campsite
