After many hours of breeding I still cannot get the purple windflower or purple tulips

Am convinced both are a myth at this point. I got blue roses to breed but not those purple bastards :(

i wanna get all the different colors and i try to follow guides like this, but it's just too much at once and I end up just saying "fuck it" and tossing them in the every-other-grid as best i can and seeing what happens.
