Favorite type of music??

I listen to Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Dance, Techno, House, Electric.

Dislike Metal, Emo/Screamo, Hardcore Rap, Country.

I've noticed that people always hate on country music in these types of lists. Is this simply a manifestation of a need to distance oneself from the culture of the Southern U.S. States, from a certain ideal present elsewhere, from over-exposure? I've always wondered.

Anyway, I'm into:

Modern: dubstep, d'n'b, house, metal (most kinds), rock, alt/electro, fusion, avant-garde, stuff that sounds like a Windows ME PC after being thrown out of a window.
Retro: new wave, synthpop, film scores, classic rock, music which makes you want to kill yourself.

I don't like rap, country, screaming

Heh I pretty much only listen to country, I've been doing so ever since I was 5 when I moved to the US (CA) and country was on the radio :)

But I agree, a lot of people seem to hate on country for some reason.

I can only really say that I like classic rock and greatly dislike metal, screamo (or anything close to), indie, and current pop music.

Other than that I can really only say I like certain artists here and there. Frank Sinatra, Kid Cudi and Eminem for example, and some country music I can tolerate.

Although its quality varies greatly, I find myself listening to J-Pop music more than anything, for instance, Asian Kung Fu Generation's "Rewrite".

Unfortunatly music where the artists scream. Like Dark heavy metal.. That's going a bit too far.

i had phases where i liked only rock, then metal, then death metal, then alternative, then video game soundtracks, then rap, then salsa, then classical, then jazz, then indie.

Succes! :D I wouldnt have lasted more than 20 seconds of any other kind of that music. Eventhough i wouldn't listen to them, they arent that bad. There is a good beat in some of the songs i listened to. :P Good job.

Myself, I've had various genres come in and out of my life, still very diverse in taste as I speak.

But I've always had a thing for modern orchestra and film scores; the range of emotion and depth they bring is incredible. From making you want to run to battle, to laying on the ground in sadness. The sound is timeless. The thundering of drums, versatility of violins, roar of tubas...could go on about this.
