Litten and Rowlet look pretty awesome IMO. Litten's final evolution is probably the best I've seen in a long time.

its not really a stretch i dont think, theres been a lot of pokemon that turn into shit that doesnt make sense i mean just look at butterfree and venomoth, in terms of starters, oshawott and samurott dont really make sense either at first glance.
but youre right that its a wrestler type, just not lucha libre
its based on tiger mask, a professional japanese wrestler who is a villain. i was banking on fire/fighting because nintendo love to dry fist my ass at every possible opportunity, but this one is really leaning towards fire/dark.
i have friends who are into wrestling who can tell you a lot more than me about tiger mask, i only know hes a bad guy who turned good guy (i think the term is heel and face respectively) and the point is, this cat wrestler guy is a dirty fighter, a bad guy, who fights for the protag, so arguably it really is the heel-turned-face pokemon?

looking at litten makes it pretty obvious thats the direction they were taking. litten and its evo are very much angry little teens who grow up to fight. theyre the Cody kid AJJ talks about in their songs.


anyway all these final evos are pretty good, im actually having a hard time choosing my starter now.
