So I know there's a few gym applications out there but im doing one for fun and also to sell it to a local gym that want me to do it...
I already have some ideas for the application but want some advice from you guys...

What features would you like to see on an application like this?

- To-do daily rutines with timer and weights.
- Nutrition plan (diet).
- Badges/Prices like points and stuff that can be changed for extra free days on the gym (bacon system alike).
- Monthly improvements with charts.
- Gallery of excercises based on goals set on configuration.
- Background music (and motivational voice maybe dk about this).
- Calendar.

Anything I missing? the application will also make use of an Restful API to pull the data of users/gyms/diets/excercises/ etc.

+rep for any feedback, cheers! :)

Is the monthly improvements with charts just something showing you your progress from one month to the next? I think it would be really cool or helpful to have a "goal" feature. For example, If I want to lose 20 lbs, I would want to put it into the app to help me keep track of the goal. Maybe it can have some sort of goal meter or something. If that makes sense.

Daily calorie intake calculator since its different for everyone depending on height, weight and age so maybe a weekly reminder to update depending on body changes.

Nutrition plan maybe have a suggestion pop up for meal/snack ideas with a option for vegans, vegetarians and normal.

Yes it will show your overall and per-excercise progress where you can compare yourself within other months, days or weeks.
This way you can see if you're stuck and how well you're doing/did since you joined the gym.

This is actually a pretty good idea, can be also a social media alike where you can share foods/meals/snacks or just you can send your own recipes in order to get it summited on the app.
Will see whats better for the app performance. thank you.

I use MyFitnessPal which I love for multiple reasons:
1. It allows you to set a goal, and then it tracks your meals with calories, protein, sugars, and more stating what your daily goal should be.
2. It has a database to search for food in case you don't have the label in front of you.
3. You can input your exercises and it calculates the calories burned for you.
4. Those burned calories go towards your meals, which means the more you burn, the more you can eat!
5. It allows you to add notes and recipes.

It's cool that you're making this. Good luck! :)

I used to use that all the time too. I think I combined that with Map My Run which would auto sync my workouts to my the app and calculate calories burned and such. The inputting of the food was very convenient too. Need to get back to it eventually too! It's probably the best app out there in my opinion. So if you want a good example, check it out!
