This guide was created with love from someone who's never gotten a speeding ticket *knocks on wood* but has been pulled over too many times to count.

Ah the joy of getting your license. You are now free to drive and you have that sense of independence. Of course, with all new things you begin to explore the boundaries and soon find yourself going 5 miles per hour over the speed limit. Soon after, you're going even faster. Maybe that's not you but it sure is me. Maybe you go the speed limit but sometimes want to just push your car to it's limits for the thrill? Who knows :)
This is a fun little guide with tips and tricks on how to get out of a speeding ticket! I hope you enjoy!

Step One: Think of a reason As soon as those sirens kick on, start thinking! You have a few options, so don't panick. You can be upfront and honest, have some long winded detailed lie, or just go with the basic lie (such as a family emergency or if you can pull it off, you're in labor).

Step 2: Apologize The apology is key. You must make the officer believe you are sorry. Be creative! This is a chance for you to start flirting if you're going down that road or start sobbing if you choose. Hone in on those acting skills though!

Step 3: Tell your story Remember that story we talked about in step one? Now's the time to tell it. Keep it consistent with the apology and attitude you've been giving. Never, I repeat never, switch to different emotions. If you started out happy, you better keep on smiling. If you were crying, make the waterworks come to life here!

Step 4: Admittance You must admit to your speeding, regardless of your story. Don't be an ass! Grow a set and tell the officer that you know what you did was wrong and it won't be happening again. They hear this every day so put your own flair and twists into it.

Additional Tips:

Flirting gets you everywhere, especially if you are a woman and the officer is a man. I'm not intending to have a sexist view but it works.
Honesty is the best policy.
Getting a rude or snotty attitude, even for a moment, will get you the ticket almost guaranteed.
Have all your info ready by the time they get to your window. On that note, have the window rolled down before they get there.
Do not act suspicious. Stay calm and you'll be fine.

Anyways, good luck and have fun : )

How about slow down while driving....

Officers are not morons (at least not all lol), they know when some kid has been going too fast and will try to weasel themselves out of a ticket. You can add if you get let off with a warning then learn from that. Honestly do not speed and you do not need to have a single run in with the cops nor a ticket in the mail. Use common sense, driving is a privilege treat it accordingly.

I once rescued a kitten at only 4 weeks old in the middle of January, and I got pulled over for speeding on the way home. I apologized to the officer and told him the honest story: that we had just rescued this kitten and yes I was speeding because I wanted to get her home, but I was prepared and expecting to pay the ticket.

Well just then the kitten who had been sitting shivering in my friend's lap let out this pitiful little meow, and gave the saddest look to the officer, and he just about died and told me to hurry home to get her warm. Haha.

So my advice is to carry a kitten everywhere. *nods*

Uhm no.

The second you do this, you have no chance to fight the ticket in court. The only possible way to remove the ticket violation is if you can win your case in traffic court. By admitting your guilty, you are automatically 100% legally screwed.

The number one thing, DO NOT ADMIT YOU WERE SPEEDING.

What the hell dude.

Yeah... the guide should just say

"Drive slow and follow the speed limit"
No need to zoom down the streets like a jack ass.

I laugh when people speed past you, and then have to stop at a red light.
Ohh, you got so much further! xD

This would be very awkward for a guy I mean they can't flirt with another guy

The guide was intended as kind of a silly, fun guide that would make you laugh and say "Oh, well I've been there" :)

Someone I know was driving to the hospital because his mother's condition was going downwards, he got hold up by the police and told them thy could give him any ticket they want if he could leave to get to the hospital asap.
The police felt bad and the escorted him! to the hospital and they didnt give him an ticket.
They went with him to the entrance (probably to see if he was really telling the truth) and wished him good luck...
True story.
His mother died a few hours later :(

The real way of getting out of a ticket.

Never admit what your speed. ever. By doing so, you admit guilt.

If the officer asks you: "What speed do you think you were going"
And you answer, trying to be honest "About 5miles over.."

You lost. You admitted to speeding. How much you went over doesn't matter, you went over the limit.

The only ways to get out of a ticked is:

1. Cop doesn't show up for court.
2. Radar isn't calibrated

Always remember it's your word vs the word of an officer of law.

Here is a good video.

the only real way to get out of a ticket is to not get caught in the first place, once you see the lights/hear the siren, you had better expect the ticket/jail time/arrest/whatever you have coming i know this as a personal fact i have been pulled over twice for speeding, one time i went to jail for having a headlight out, and speeding, and not wearing a seat belt and having an outstanding warrant, all at the same time, because i wanted to speed the gf home from work

the next time was a few years later, i was doing about 11 over the limit, trying to get home from work myself, and had my seatbelt on, both headlights worked, etc etc, and the cop let me off with a warning, even though i didn't have a drivers license or insurance

it all depends on how the cop is feeling, who the cop is, what kind of day they have had, how they are feeling, and what you do, so if you hear the siren, or see the lights, be prepared for you punishment no matter what

Oh I agree, you should always expect it since you were in the wrong but there are instances and tricks on how to get out of them. Perhaps these only work so well for me because a.) I am female and b.) I live in a tiny little town where everyone knows everyone lol.

I think there is other things they can pin you for when you try to get out of a ticket. Lieing would be obstructing I believe so that is another charge. I think having attitude also falls into some other category. Small towns you can probably get away with stuff from knowing the cops but the bigger cities you are basically getting a ticket unless the cop is having a good day and lets you off with a warning. As for being a girl it is not like a cop has not seen a girl try to flaunt something to get her way so the cop may write the ticket even quicker as an "yeah had this done before now move on" type response.

^that

if you lie, and the cop finds out, that's obstruction of justice (i've had that charge a couple times before, carries about 6 months in jail+1000$ fine), or if you continually do it, then they can take ya downtown and permanently remove your license, or if you try flirting with the cop, and you even so much as touch them, that's assault on a police officer, even if you just lightly touch their arm, or if you show too much cleavage, or other skin, then that can be construed as public indecency, and that's about a year + 5k in fines?

however, different cities/states carry different fines/jail times for the offences

My bf is going through the process to becoming a cop, I cannot wait to hear of all the stories from him of people trying to get out of tickets lol. Especially the kids who think they are above the law. It is very simple, act proper and follow the rules and there is no reason to be charged with anything.

my step dad was a cop in dallas texas, i've heard it all, lol he even took me along for ridealongs a few times.............

I would love to do a ride along when he is a cop lol. I am excited though because the stories he will come home with will never end and they will be about everything and anything, not just kids trying to get out of a possession of pot charge or speeding ticket.

Is it just me or does it seem like the easiest way to get out of a ticket is to have boobs, just something i saw on How I Met Your Mother

Also if you don't want a speeding ticket, don't speed.

On interstates, I wait for someone to pass me by who is clearly speeding and not going to be slowing down, and I let them go out front, so if there is a cop, they will have stopped them before they see me, and I'm always going slower than they were. It's obivously not full proof, but on long trips, letting someone else go faster than you at least gives me comfort in going 10 over or so depending on how traffic is moving.

I have to drive 12 hours on Friday, this may be a timely topic for me to read!

This only works depending on the interstate imo. It is generally what I do as well, but if cops have a nice flat grassy bed between the incoming/oncoming, they will usually have 1 guy up front with a radar and anywhere between 2-8 cruisers (depending on the location/time of day/time of year/etc...) waiting out back to have a steady factory line of tickets rolling out

Moral of the story: if you're gonna let a guy speed by, make sure to let a few of them first :P

Also, keep your eyes in the distance for people braking randomly (randomly to you, but they are braking for cops), or (if you're lucky) somebody will tap their brakes to let you know there is a speed trap up ahead

I personally don't drive, but I don't think my acting skills would get me that far :P
