Idea for hassle free pokemon tournament ANYONE can join

THE FINAL BATTLE [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Rules:

You are to battle your opponent one time on [Only registered and activated users can see links]
You are to play an unrated random battle.
On the bottom left corner of the page, there is a button labeled 'Find a User' and this is how you challenge your opponent.

The winner moves on to the next round until we have one person left. The finals will be best two out of three.


This is a very lowkey tournament, so the prizes are nothing crazy. I am hoping to launch a huge tournament in a few months but am trying to work out all of the details at the moment.

20mil or so on trades, very rare and wearables
2nd place: [Only registered and activated users can see links] + THE ENTIRE SLM
3rd place (the two losers of the semi finals will play each other to determine third place): 5 shells

I used to play Random OU battles back when I was bored in second year and compete against my friends. This sounds fun, I'm in!

I do not have much in the way of NP or items to contribute, but if anyone's interested in an art prize, I could volunteer a chibi or something :)

Yep! You could end up with a crappy team full of Pokemon like Zigzagoon, or you could get a surprisingly good team. Orrrr a mixture. Have a couple of tries when you have some free time - it's really quick and fun!

Exactly :)
So sometimes you get a mega, sometimes not. Sometimes you get three legendaries, sometimes none. They make logical sets on the pokemon which helps in that respect.

I need to set it up once we get a 16th person so getting prizes together and everything, you should be fine. First round will have a longer period anyways since more people, and this idea and when people posted they were interested was a while back!

I would personally like to thank Jass Wintersmourn Angie Nidoking Mo Brickhaus Lyric n_eko Accelerator Paopu Vis Mophead Marine Biology HairyKnucks CloudAcara for participating in the tournament. I know everything was done on a whim but I am happy that almost every battle was still played despite the time frame on this being rather delayed (Topic created February 28, concluded May 4) so thank you for that. I know some of you never used pokemon showdown before so it was fantastic to see people cool with trying it out!

I do plan on hosting a larger, more organized tournament in the near future so please stay tuned for that. It is being fine-tuned and will need to be officially approved but I think it will be very possible. Thank you all for making the first tournament a fun one!
