Is there any software available to recover iphone data?

A friend of mine had to restore their iPhone back to factory settings today and has lost every thing. I've been checking Google but a lot of the programs are a complete scam.

Does anyone know of any legit programs out there?

Unless you have access to programs the use in IT forensics, no. Does he have no iCloud/iTunes backups? And all his bought apps/music/books will still be linked to his iTunes account.

Im pretty sure once you reset it to factory settings there isn't really a way to get it back. iCloud would be the only thing I can think of but im sure you've already tried that

Unless you've backed up before via iCloud and haven't removed anything from the iCloud account, no.
