Anybody get the text message that crashes imessage/iphone?

apparently there's some text message being sent around that makes iphones to reboot/messages app to crash? my friend sent me it and now i can't open the app :mad:

anybody else dealing with this?

i've been crashed like 4 times and been trying to fix my messages for like an hour LOL

No, it didn't work, LOL.
It seriously crashes phones?

So the main way to fix it is to have the number send you another text on top of the message (allowing you to open the iMessage app), and delete the thread.
This is assuming they have the english header on the top of the message thread: iirc if they didn't include the English header you may be boned.

Yeah I know, but maybe it crashes on older models rather than newer ones?

Some phones are not vunerable to it, others are.and maybe the person sent the message missing a part of i.

i sent it to my friends and it worked on them but one tried sending it back to me and it didnt work, think its bc i have my notifications off but not sureeeee

someone was reading their essay in front of the class from their phone and someone else in the class crashed it midway with the text LOL

I didn't get the text fortunately. No one ever texts me so I don't even have to worry. :P As soon as I saw the video about it on dudecomedy (lol does anyone else watch MTD?) I immediately looked for a way to stop it from happening to me. Read that if you changed your settings to where it wont show on the lock screen that no one can shut your phone off even if they send the text. Did that for pre-cautions. That reminds me, gonna see if Apple finally fixed that.
