This term has not been good for me, all courses that I was required to take to fill credits so I had no interest in them to begin with. So far just a B+.

I hated first year, I realized how much work the degree was actually going to be. But wait till those grades really start to matter in the 300 and 400 level courses and everyone is just bitchy to each other worrying about grades. It is hard to sometimes get average when everyone else is a high honors student. I had a pharmacology class with an average of 86 and that equated a B at the end of the year! lol. And here once the more advanced courses begin you get people who are reluctant to help you out because if they help you and they get a lower mark and thus a lower grade they are pissed...it is all about grad school and professional programs once you get into the advanced stuff. And no one is getting in those without extremely high marks.

^ luckily I go to a community college. So it's not as cut-throat. :D

^^ Agreed!!

First semester back is horrible. But my CC has a mandatory class. First Year Experience(i took my 3rd semester. lol) that shows students what to expect, and how things REALLY r at college. lol

I think if the teachers graded with a curve, I'd always have A's. lol. I just may be cocky though.

It did. Then I couldn't get a hold of my teacher! I was like WTF WOMAN. but it's all straightened out. Apparently there was a glitch that made it so she didn't receive my final project, which was 30% of the grade. (online class)

First semester at a university was this one, which was a LOT harder than the community college. I don't expect much. I know I got a C for Chemistry, which could be worse because it's my first time having chemistry ever. The other ones may be worse :/. Maybe you can cheer me up deadfolx :o

i think i did well on all the ones that count towards my major that i have to keep a 7.0 cumulative GPA in (my school is on a 12 point scale lol) but the other ones i think i did enough to pass :P i had two finals worth 70 % and 85 % soooo i hope i did well

It would be nice if they had a standard grading scale across all schools, at least in canada anyways. I hate when one school is a 4.0 another a 4.33 (my current school, whats with the .33), 12 etc.

Damn! That's a huge percentage! You could, like, not do any work then pass the final and still pass LOLOL

May or may not have done that ... lol and i know all my friends are on the typical 4 point scale or 5 point scale which ever it is and then i am on this stupid 12 point scale can never know what anyone is talking about :P

Those 70%+ finals are ridiculous, there is nothing you can really do but either know the material or not...cannot go into it half assed like other classes and ride your previous marks if you are not good in the class.

Universities have classes when your mark is based on 2 or 3 marks (1 or 2 midterms and the final). The technical and community college schools here are like high school, they get unit exams....unit exams! And noncumulative finals! I have taken over 40 courses and only 2 have been noncumulative lol. I have had people tell me (they are actually bitching) that their school is so hard blah blah blah then I remind them that hard is when your entire grade is based on 2 or 3 marks, not 2 chapter unit exams 12 times a term. You have nothing to fall back on, it sucks.

Got my grades back a few weeks ago. 3 A's, 1 B & 1 C for a 3.3 GPA for my first college semester. Not really what I was hoping, but nothing i can't handle. I got so focused on keeping/gaining the A's, I really didn't focus on the Calculus class I got A's in the rest of the year.
