Remember the good ol' days when we had sheep.exe and MyFelix? Anyone have any experience programming this sorts of things in Widows 7? I've been wondering why we don't seem to have a lot of them now days... they were so awesome! I've seen a couple discussions on them online but nothing that really shows me in depth how they're written nowadays. I know you need some sort of wrapper for the GDI+, I'm currently trying to do it all in JAVA but is there a more ideal language to be doing this in? I have no idea. I'm kind of an amateur programmer and this project just sounded like a lot of fun.

Not the very same one, it doesn't have all the cool functions the original sheep.exe did but it's at least close and pretty adorable. :)

I wouldn't code it in java; it's very heavyweight and will bog down your processes if the file is too large (and a good pet would be decently sized for what it does, I imagine). I don't know what's ideal these days because I too am an amateur programmer.
