They are promoted. People are so mad at them (the company) because they performed at the YG family japanese concert and supposedly they should be disbanded by now. It was a collaboration with team A. And they didn't even debuted Winner first.Plus the whole drama of the show when people actually voted through text and payed money. So fans are pissed thinking they were media played just for attention.
Let's hope everything will go down with Winner's debut.

That's cause, almost everything that comes out of SM is pretty generic. f(x) is one of the awesome exceptions though. :D
Not that the bands from SM are bad, I obssessed over EXO for a while and I still love em. SNSD is legend.
