IMO, Vegeta wins for me. Although he's switched sides in the DBZ episodes to help the good side, his intentions are still to be the only powerful being in the universe. He's turned against his own team many times. In my eyes he wins this category.

Who do you think is the most badass villian? Can be from a movie or television show.

In terms of villainy in the real world. I don't really think villains are bad ass, just ass holes.

It's really hard to choose one villain from across all genres.

I'd put Tobi from Naruto Shippūden at the top because he's just been OP so far.
Also, the chimera ant King from Hunter x Hunter. Jesus Fucking Christ he's so OP.
DAT 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva brushoff

Maleficent of course!

But most of all Professor Dolores Umbridge. Omg, ugh..I've never hated a character so much.

Im going to go with Eric Mabius as The Crow in Crow: Salvation. He was the evil protagonist, so I guess he wasnt necessarily the villain, but he was such a badass.

Are we talking movies or comics or video games or just in general? If just general then:

Sephiroth
Maleficent
Ganondorf
Joker
Dr. Hannibal Lector
Madara Uchiha
Michael Myers
Darth Vader
Ansem
Shao Kahn
Kerrigan
Vaas Montenegro
Arthas
Kefka
Apocalypse
Lex Luther
Darkseid
Tywin Lannister

Man so many...I can't decide, but personally I like my villains to be cold, calculative and cunning while still being strong/powerful enough to out maneuver the protagonist. Like Madara Uchiha or Tywin Lannister. But other villians like Joker or Michael Myers are intriguing in a sick, twisted and demented way.

I gotta go with Scar.

He killed the SHIT out of Mufasa.

and, in a scene Disney deleted for good reason, he definitely wanted to do the naughty with Nala

Gaara from the original Naruto because he becomes good. His powers were so broken back then, make a fist to kill someone :/ Haven't seen shippuden though.

Most bad ass villain i have to agree is Maleficent. In both classic and current version of the movies. She turns into a dragon on the classic one, and she gets bad ass wings on the current one. It's beautiful to see this kind of villains in movies.

SnoLeopard

Maleficent of course
Dr. Hannibal Lector - Amazingly intriguing and creepy at the same time.
The Joker - Just because it's so classic
Freddy from Nightmare on Elm street because he is crazy, ugly and insane!

I don't know if you would really consider her a villain but Marceline
off Adventure Time is pretty badass with her bass-axe.

Does Mandy from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy count? I just like her generally unfazed attitude and calm amorality.
