1 ply vs. 2+ ply toilet paper

Everytime I go to a friends house, they always have toilet paper that feels like tissue paper. Does anyone use 2+ ply toilet paper?

We used to buy single-ply at home, but to make up for the terrible finger-soiling inadequacy of it I would use way too much at a time. Then we discovered Charmins teddy-bear soft 2-ply. Life was forever changed for the better. I only have to use maybe 2-4 squares at a time, it's the best.

Isn't 2-ply the standard for the average American (and 1st world country)? I only encounter the singles at public cans.

I hate 1-ply, not so much because it's rough, but I wipe my ass hard, so there is no chance of skid marks.

When I do my usual thing with 1-ply, sometimes it tears right through the paper and it feels like I'm picking my bum like I'm picking my nose.
Now I like to finger lick Nutella out of the jar, but not my own Nutella. Das jus naastay.

Only 2-ply can afford me the durability and assurance of my ritual.

I hate the thin stuff. :| Like seriously, I'm afraid my fingers will go through it so I always use too much. And when you're sick it doesn't matter, all toilet paper looks like

2 is the minimum, currently 3-ply at our apartment. I've never used 1-ply at home, ever.
