so after seeing the simpson Vs. family guy thread i thought i should ask the question. Which do you find more entertaining between family guy and american dad? Family guy has been on much longer but is kind of getting to the point for me anyways where i dont enjoy it like i used to. American Dad has always been entertaining to me and kind of been more of the refreshingly funny show to me. I think at heart i will always like family guy more but this is a question that i found myself asking so i thought i would ask all of you for your opinions.

Family Guy hands down.

AD has improved over the years, but still lacks the random, outrageous humour that FG provides.

IMO, AD:

1. Is too situational. The story of the day is sometimes bland and dry.
2. Too focused on USisms. Yes, I acknowledge Stan's occupation, the premise of the series, and the title of the show - but it's still in-tuned to American patriotism (in parody) and not as applicable to international viewers (like myself - even though I watch it on Fox concurrently)

FG reaches all, is unpredictable, wacky, can go off any tangent, etc. Not bound to any actual premise.

I think i might agree with you Mod. Stan keeps things kind of interesting with the way his job always plays into everything. On the other hand i don't think anyone will ever replicate the way that Peter is so random. I mean with Peter you just never know whats going to happen, ever... Brian and stewie also add another sense of comedy that american dad just doesn't have. Although i do still find american dad very entertaining.

Always a true Family Guy fan. I don't even think american dad can compete. Although family guy tends to joke on controversial topics it is still funny.

I'm definitely a Family Guy fan. I find it a lot funnier than American Dad, but I guess it's only a personal opinion to that point.

I'm not sure why, but I just don't like american dad at all. the only characters I like are roger and hayley, so perhaps that's why. :/
family guy on the other hand is just so much funnier anyway.

I can't get into American Dad at all. Everyone's all, "It's basically the same as Family Guy". Not to me.

I like them both equally, honestly.

They're not really that much alike, other than the "family" aspect.

I love Roger, and his many personalities-- as well as Stan's stern but silly way of doing things.
I can also compare myself to Francine, since she's so spunky and wanting the best for her kids. :D

But if I really had to choose, Family Guy would win. :)

Roger is my favorite character of all time, but Family Guy is still a funnier show.

Family Guy for me seems funnier and more interesting that American Dad. Maybe it's because I'm not from USA.
