Very sad for an anime. It's really really messed up. Don't watch it if you don't want to be scarred.

Also it's a spoiler for Elfen Lied. So don't watch it if your in the mid of the show.

Not a movie crier as such, but I have welled up a few times watching them play the British National Anthem for the gold medal Olympians recently!

Titanic because i was like 7 at the time and i thought that people where actually dieing as i watched it. At that age i had yet to realise that movies weren't real.

Now i laugh at some of the deaths in movies which is kinda awkward when im in a cinema full of people. e.g. timeless had a few funny deaths

Yikes. Um, I don't think any movie has ever made me cry. I've seen a few of the "sad" ones like Marley and Me, and the Notebook, etc. I dunno, maybe I'm just heartless? lol. Anime on the other hand... yeah certain ones make me cry.

OT: Hachi was definitely one of the saddest movies I've seen, worse than Marley and Me.

Quite a few, though one that comes to mind after reading these recent posts, is Toy Story 3.

The end was like the end of an era, the nail in the coffin for my childhood happiness.

Knowing Woody and Andy have at last parted ways, the feeling I experienced was as if the kid in me that watched the first one in theatres was shot up like swiss cheese by an AK-47.

I know this sounds INSANE, but I've NEVER watched Titanic before, and I know I should. I've lived my whole life being okay with merely knowing the general story of that movie haha. Nothing against it, just hard to time travel to DeCaprio's younger days :P

Notebook made me cry, and the movie Hachi (the famous shiba inu movie). There are tons but those two came to mind first.

Titanic was also a very memorable movie for me. I watched it when I was 7 or 8; I think it was the second time I ever saw breasts before.
When I was 11-12 and my parents weren't home, I used to bust out their Titanic VCD and skip to the nude scenes, rewinding over and over.

Notebook made me cry, and the movie with the Hitachi (the famous shiba inu movie).

That's what I first read your post as.

Probably one of the saddest movies I've seen.

When I first saw the video preview image for that, I thought it was Spider-Man.

UP made me cry in the first 10 minutes and at the end too. I actually went to see it with all of my friends and none of us could cry in front of each other so we all had to hold it back and a single tear was shed because I just couldn't do it anymore. afterwards I spent some time in the bathroom getting it out because it was a little more private than a packed movie theater

Oh gosh, I'm super emotional.
Most sadish romantic movies have made me cry at least the first time around (P.S. I Love You, The Notebook). I found A.I. profoundly sad. That movie Awakenings had me BAWLING like a baby. Also cried at the beginning of Up. Recently, I think Les Mis made me cry, the part where Anne Hathaway... Oh...

I hate crying while watching a movie, but I always do if it's sad enough. I watched My Sister's Keeper with my sister in the theater way back and we were sobbing by the end. It makes it a little bit better when you have someone to cry with. :P But I refuse to watch The Fault in Our Stars, even if someone goes with me, because I know I'll be crying through the whole movie. ;-;

in The Fault in Our Stars, I assume. I've almost cried in one part - but then I was like ROFL LOL LOL (a girl next to me was like "stfu im crying". she: "shhh")

I've almost cried watching 3 episodes of Glee.

Mercedes' testimony, before the music. A single tear trickled my face and I was dead inside. plus: almost cried in "Make you feel my love" by Lea Michele (Rachel Berry)
3 - It was one that Will Schuester confessed he got cheating on exams. Something like this. I don't really remember why, but this is the last one.

I dont cry really, but man, if there's one movie that gets to me it's Saving Private Ryan. That movie's fucking rough, exactly as it should be. Too much media glorifies war as this beautiful, honorable affair which makes handsome heroes of us all. Total bullshit, Saving Private Ryan shows a much more real interpretation of it. That beach landing scene, that's the reality of war. If it were up to me that movie would be required watching in every High School History class across the world.

Besides the obvious ones already listed:

Blue Valentine - Reminds me of every failed relationship I've had, minus having a kid.
Where the Red Fern Grows - Cause dogs.
Boys Don't Cry - That assault scene...it makes me die on the inside knowing Brandon went through that.
A Walk to Remember - It's just adorable.
Revolutionary Road - This was more because I completely understood Winslet's character and her desire to start fresh, and the very end was just very sad. It really irks me that DiCaprio's character didn't pick up on the sudden mood change of his wife.

There's also a part in The Tigger Movie when Tigger is off by himself trying to find his family...when his family is right there. :(

Barefoot Gen is a really hard one for me to watch. It's an animated movie about a survivor of the nuclear blast in Hiroshima, who didn't even have any shoes.

Here's the movie if you are interested, graphically explicit - as description says, historically accurate. ([Only registered and activated users can see links])

Also, Earthlings - a documentary about the way humans treat animals - makes me bawl. Not a Juaquin Phoenix fan, but it's still very informative. Also, a hard to stomach movie to watch.
