While I can understand the "explore new places" idea behind the game, it has not been implemented as well as it could have been to achieve this. For instance, we went for a drive out to the weir, our closest body of water, seeking water pokemon. There was nothing there, nor was there for the 20 minutes drive there. Realistically, the current form of the game encourages you to explore cities. This puts rural people at a disadvantage. The nearest location to my town for water pokemon is a 4 hour drive. If it were simply to explore, then it would have made a more level playing field. It wouldn't have been too difficult to include a random encounter aspect (between x and y seconds/steps/km/whatever, pokemon of [limited range] will spawn) which would address this problem.

I don't have a problem with the cheating.
For full disclosure, I run a service for the game (leveling/boosting), so obviously I'm pro-cheating.

Anyways, the game isn't competitive. Me being level 34 has no impact on being level 23. Yes, gyms exist, but they're incredibly easy to defeat and the diminishing returns of leveling up are easy to overcome. 6 of your pokemon could beat 1 of mine.

I do have a legitimate account that I haven't cheated on whatsoever. I enjoy the exploration, but I also enjoy automation and that sort of stuff, so I have 4+ illegit accounts

A lot of you people may or may not play Pokemon GO but I made this topic to point out a sad but true trend starting to take hold of it.
Cheating people are using some sites that let them play from the computer and walk around without even moving to get ahead and teleport
all over the map its highly unfair and just against the TC. Seeing as I play I was wondering how others viewed it and how they react.

You do realize 90% of the people on this site cheat in some form on neopets? how is Pokemon Go any different? if anything it's more acceptable imo because it doesn't negatively affect anyone else, even if you have a strong gym defender because of botting/pokevision etc. you can still easily be defeated by an attacking pokemon not being controlled by bad AI especially if you don't have stronger/slow defender movesets imo

that being said I do really think the Pokemon GO "Market" is disgusting and only there to take advantage of people who aren't aware of how readily available the resources are to bot or cheat for yourself

Bleh it doesn't really bother me. It was bound to happen one way or another, with any sort of game (such as Neopets). I play it legitly though, I enjoy going out and exploring and playing the game with my friends.

It would be highly unfair if the density of pokestops was uniform all around the world.

My whole town has 4 (!) pokestops and like 3 pokemon spawn points. Then I look at screenshots from people in big cities like NY, London, Paris, LA, and they have dozens of pokestops in each street, and tons of spawn points. Now that is highly unfair.

So yeah, after walking 80+km and not even having 50 different pokemons, I started using bots. No regrets.

when the only pokestops near me are on the other side of a highway? hell yeah I'm gonna cheat. I stopped playing and lost a major amount of love for the game cause while I'm having to sit in a median if I want and pokeballs other people can get them with an easy walk or from their own home

this is a game for big cities and the rest of us have to cheat or pray that there's a pokestop they can actually get to without dying

I'm not bothered by cheating. It doesn't really concern me whether you're actually walking around or just sitting in front of your pc and cheating lol. You're the one missing out the fun.

Heck I'd cheat too if I weren't so scared of being perma-banned or something. >_>

I cheat, but only to get to pok�stops to get more items. Otherwise I walk in the trails all around my house to catch Pok�mon and hatch eggs. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I have no stops within non-driving distance. I'm not gonna waste gas to get a small handful of items

like if your ill or something and want to go pokemon hunting but can't move
just do it from your pc
then when your well again and out about socialising do that aswell

The GPS spoofers im okay with. If you only have WIFI on your phone like me then its pretty limited where I can play pokemon go
I like to teleport to a bigger town near by and just use a joystick to walk around. Its cheating but its not that bad right?...
