oh god. my friends were over last night and neopets came up in conversation. so obviously my gf outed me as still being a player.

then my friend (who used to play when she was a kid) said she's going to log on and add me as a friend and i dont want her to because then she'll see that i am a loser who obviously still plays way too much

Left a neo screen up on my work pc once..
Morning break come around and had people from the office laughing at me because i played Neopets.

Wasn't until a few weeks later, i found out they were ex-neopians when they come up and sarcastically thanked me for getting them back into it (which i didn't) blamed me for leaving my screen up and reminding them the game still existed :-/

I openly play Neopets so I don't really care who sees or what people say. A few of my friends blamed me for getting them back into it (no shame).

There was one time I was in class at University and I was getting my Habi set up. I forgot the volume and so I was sitting there for like five minutes, trying to eyeball anyone who looked like a Neo player. I was going to pounce but then I realized it was me and I didn't turn the volume down.

What's wrong with buying a Wii U eshop card? lol It's no different then buying XBOX Live cards.

When my parents asked me who was transferring a couple hundred bucks to my bank acct, I had to tell them I sold neo stuff lol... They took it pretty well, but were like wtf? You still play that?

Hey to me that sounds like the least embarrassing way to get called out on playing Neopets. Yeah you play it but you make money! It's like a job.

True, but it was pretty embarrassing having to explain that I spend a bunch of money buying up neopets stuff XD

I swear I've never met anyone IRL who's even heard of Neopets, aside from my family who all know I play and have played since I was 9 (2001). No kids at any of my schools played, that I knew of anyway. So if there was ever an opportunity for Neo to embarrass me it was lost on those who had no idea what it even was.
