    Illustrator tutorials?

Anyone know of any good Illustrator tutorials for a complete beginner?

I just spent an hour (maybe two) making my first piece of "art" for the CK Summer Art Challenge and it looks like it could've been done in Paint in 5 minutes lol
PM me to see what I have up for sale! Always selling UCs/NP/Accounts!

First tip - NEVER use illustrator for drawing.

Ironically enough, illustrator is not made for illustrating. (':
It's not totally impossible to make cool drawings in Illustators, but it takes someone that really knows how to use the tools creatively.
It's primarily used for graphic design, mostly things like logo design, and things that will be printed, because the files are vectors.

If you're looking to get into a digital drawing program, I would recommend Paint Tool Sai, which is excellent for beginners, because it's a lot simpler than Photoshop, but can still do very similar things.
Or Photoshop is also pretty swell for drawing, as well as editing all at once.

I kinda noticed that, doing a simple drawing took forever and the tools weren't intuitive at all, even with a tablet. I'll have to look into Sai.

I'll definitely be doing that, sounds like Sai is much better. I had Illustrator for free through my school so I figured it was worth a shot haha

clip studio paint is also an option. like paint tool sai, but with more photoshop elements to it. i bought it a while back and... its fun but um. i cant figure out how to change the canvas size after ive created the canvas like in sai LMFAO

but yeah, sai is defy your best bet. couple it with photoshop if youd like more filters and such, because sai is good for base drawing but when it comes to blurs and overlays and such its very lacking.
