I could not locate an appropriate thread section: this isn't always an online game, nor is MTG a videogame... (help?)
Let's discuss MTG, y'all!
My rambles are behind the spoiler.
In YGO, you don't need land/resources/elements/wtfever to do stuff and the cards are/were a simple read (I played ~10 years ago). The Spoils assigns a speed to each card and lets you know if certain guys are harder to kill in plain writing. MTG is VERY confusing: I rarely know which creatures I can't attack.
Fortunately for me, my boyfriend is pretty~ darn good at the game. We're becoming somewhat of regulars at a local game shop, where I've played twice. The hardest thing for me is that my boyfriend refuses to play JUST creatures (he likes 'control' decks, that either limit what the challenger can do or try to kill off the challenger in some quirky way), so I'm not really learning what the other cards do... it gets repetitive and annoying. Granted, he's great at his strategies, but I it sucks trying to learn from him.
I play EDH on occasion. Praise infinite combos.
One of my best friends loves to play him some Friday night magic.
I just watch Day9 spellslinger episodes to get my fix. Quite entertaining.
Wilson,plz.
A fellow recommended that I watch Spellslinger. He stated that Charlie from Supernatural (Celeste Middleton) often appears. The show is highly recommended for me to use as a learning tool. I'd like to get better acquainted with the game before I start watching (I'm fearful of confusing myself).

The channel, Geek & Sundry, has a lot of celebrities appear on the show.
Everyone has a different strategy , so you never really know what to expect and they are always playing different decks.
There's nothing super advanced in the show, I don't think you would get lost. They explain what all the cards do which is what I love.
I generally would spend 90% of the game reading cards lol when I would play, so they make it all easy.
Wilson,plz.
I've only drafted once for that reason. I want to develop at least a general understanding before I draft again. Perhaps the worst thing for me right now is that I get embarrassed -- though everyone is really nice! -- and begin to say things like, "just tell me how much damage." or, "does my guy die?" instead of striving to understand. It's discouraging to me for whatever reason.
I'll make time to watch the show soon!
Once upon a time in high school I played MTG. My collection was worth about 4k.
Boys would give me free cards because I was a cute girl who played magic. Lulz. I stopped playing after I left for the military. I guess I outgrew it?
I love Jess
No, I gave it all to my little brother who plays still.
