Yes and No. Its totally up to Neopets.
A lot of people thought Pokemon at one point was over, but they focused on their strength, which was not the card game.
Neopets needs to get with the times, be a lot more interactive and maybe even create an app? Incorporate a more advance battle system, re-define "freezing", and figure out the hot-mess that is NC items.
To be honest, I feel like NC clothes pretty much ruined the mystic of owning a Grey, Faerie, Plushie or any other type of pet. The second that happened, everything went to s**t.

Someone, somewhere will always be playing neopets. Its just so much fun.
Yeah it will just become more and more inactive as the years go by, unless they make some drastic changes
Neopets sucks. we know that. it has been on a downhill since years back when it sold in 700mil USD to viacom. HOWEVER, it is a stable site with loads of games, and as such, it will never end. people play sites which have ONLY games for decades, lol. so this will never be fully removed. besides, there's always a constant stream of 6-7 years olds that keep finding the site and staying.
it will fall and keep falling, but eventually it will stabilize on some million of players, and that's probably it.
I wanted to say yes (due to some hard earned NP and valuable items I have managed to earn throughout the years -fairly-), but I quickly realized that I would probably be too busy with graduate work to find the hours I normally do now to devote to Neopets :/ Oh well, I'll enjoy the time I do spend in on there in the meantime.
NC sucks.
Ironically, Borovan hates NC.
