She really is, though I've only met her twice and the mother isn't speaking to me right now

I think I'm most proud of (and tired lmao) getting out of my comfort zone this year in being introverted. I know it's pretty cliche to be like "I came out of my shell " because I'm not a shy person- I'm very direct, but just generally get exhausted talking to too many people. Anyway I did a LOT this year volunteering for events to kind of force myself to be more social and what not because I'm definitely the person that just goes "meh, no thanks" and I think I did way too much of that in my 20's and this year, just entering my 30's, I kind of just thought "it's time to grow up" because I know I kind of go out of my way to avoid people, but in turn, I miss out on making new friends or just having fun experiences.

I'm tired, lol, because it was indeed a lot of work haha and definitely bit off more than I could chew, but I'm glad I did it because some of it helped me professionally (leading groups for education conferences, working with other staff, doing mentoring programs, etc.), but also I got to meet some new cool people and make new friends.
One example is volunteering for my gym's first powerlifting event. I had just started powerlifting myself and I'm DEFINITELY not of the "gym is life" mindset, but I wanted to help to get to know the staff better and see what the "culture" was like in this sport. I was so glad I helped because not only was it interesting and fun to attend, but I got to know the staff better and I became much more comfortable going to the gym getting to know people there and I would NEVER have done that at any other gym I go to lol.

Definitely exhausting, but quite a productive year! Probably going to chill out a lil next year, although I already have 2 conferences I need to go to and help out with and another powerlifting meet to help with...lol

That sounds amazing. Definitely something to be proud of I keep telling myself I need to leave the house more, but I usually just end up staying home and playing Neopets/Pokemon etc

This year has been a roller coaster.

    •Sold our house
    •Quit both our jobs
•Moved 2000 Miles away for a simpler life
    •Bought our new home
•Paid off 90% of our debt
(we owe Less than 5k on our truck. Less than 75k Mortgage. And small loan we took out for our dogs surgery Less than 10k)
•With that paid off our 2nd car

Now to find new jobs moving into 2024 but there's no real rush.

Everyone in our lives has seen it in real time so it's felt like we've just had to justify everything we've done. No real time to appreciate the accomplishments we've made. Life's good! We are very fortunate. And despite what our friends and family think, I'm proud of us for doing it. We've been talking about it for 2 years!

im proud that... going through what i did. i didnt end up like my mother. she was already down a bad road when my sister and i were kids. looking and back and making the choices that i did. to stay away from things that could depreciate my body. to dealing with everything that happened over the summer. to accepting someone who is available and filled with love. it was all apart of my process.

im proud that i grew up in a way so that i can shape my future children and not be my mother. my father was great and i wish him and amy were here. alas life really did give me a double edged sword and im willing to finish it out till were all 80+ and saying hi on this forum.

thanks for posting @(you need an account to see links)
