Thanks! The composition is indeed my favorite so far for that reason
I've been using builder gel yes! I love it, it adds a nice sturdiness to my nails. Highly recommend it. Love experimenting so far with doing 3d builder gel art.
The prep work is really easy, don't worry!! Imo it's the easiest part, and so satisfying too *-*
Currently rocking a (teeny bit more maximalist) short harajuku-inspired set ~

@(you need an account to see links) yeaaa I def know what you mean about it being satisfying xD it's just a lot of work/less fun than the actual decorating/painting part so I rather leave it to professional ehehe although the last time I got my nails done the guy was so rough and my cuticles bled like three times I was actually very upset 😣
oooh those nails are so cute!! I love the pastels, it's such a relaxing/cozy palette! 🥰

Oh no That sucks! It's super scary when you bleed around there. I had a really bad scare when I accidentally dug too deep into mine and my finger was swollen for like 3 days @__@\
Thank you! I wasn't sure about them at first but I'm loving short nails, this thread helped me see that you don't need super long nails to make em beautiful ~ I always thought I needed all the space I could get but wearing talons is just... a sensory nightmare
Here I go again with some more nail art (I hope this isnt grave digging)
This is my best set so far! This is press ons with nail glue, hoping for 3 weeks retention. Though Im not even sure if I want that bc Ive become so paranoid of greenies
Your nails look fantastic! Press-ons can be such a convenient option, especially with the right nail glue. I totally get the paranoia about greenies, though. Have you thought about exploring some new (you need an account to see links) to switch things up while still keeping your nails healthy and happy?

I've been meaning to post in here for ages! Sorry for the poor photo quality, I was trying to tile the images in such a way that it wouldn't completely fill the page. I'm rocking the yellow to pink pastels with Lunar Unicorn Skin at the moment! ^^
Going in columns, starting on the left: mixed metal theme, using crushed holo, multichrome, and metallic foil polish, Missed Shift + Galactic Unicorn Skin, aforementioned pastels+ LUS, Sunset Simulation, a pink/yellow multi-chrome + Scorched Earth and Gold Flake Taco, Pink Fizz, a holographic polish, and then my first attempt at a pastel creme palette this spring.

Omg I missed replying to this, but from what I've seen it's all in the prep + making sure you apply polish only on the nailbed + choosing the right size tip for your nailbed
Prep: you cuticles need to be entirely clean and nails NEED to be completely dry - I make sure to rub them intensely with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol+acetone and wait 2 seconds
Application: if you're applying polish and it overflows onto your skin, naturally occurring oils on your cuticles can seep into your nails and cause lifting. Wouldnt worry about this too much if youre using premade pressons though. Glue application is also very important. The nail needs to be applied at a 45 degree angle to squeeze out any bubbles, which are the death of retention. I prefer doing gel x style for this reason because if I mess this up I can always redo. With superglue, you can't start over.
Size: the tip has to cover your nailbed sidewall to sidewall. If its too small, it causes upward pressure on your nail which can cause lifting.
Take it with a grain of salt though, the longest I can get mine is about 2 weeks on the dot.. can't seem to cross the 3 week mark but it may just be the products Im using, they're cheaper brands from amazon...still going to keep trying though. My current set right now is just past 2 weeks, I wonder if this will be the one xD
