Disregarding my last comment though, and since I don't read a real specific genre of books. Some good series are -
-The Mortal Instruments
-The Infernal Devices
-The Rangers Apprentice
-Artemis Fowl (Written for a middle school audience however)
Are some of my favorite series.
i usually read fantasy/sci-fi
busy rereading song of ice and fire right now
Historic fantasy grabs me a lot, but so do books that read well. I can ready just about anything if I put my mind to it, it doesn't take long. I remember getting Eragon for my 14th Birthday I think it was, I read through it over a few days and then when in town I bought the sequel Eldest and read through the whole thing that night (school probably didn't thank me that day).
So yeah, historic fantasy and general fantasy it is. I don't mind a slight mix of reality with it either.
I would say that most of the books I like are either children's or YA series, in a sci-fi or fantasy genre. I have some books I really love that don't fit into those specifics but for the most part, children's and YA fiction seems to draw me in more than adult fiction even if it's the same genre.
I think the difference is that a lot of adult books seem to be trying too hard to be deep and "meaningful" so they end up being too dark, where I prefer books that are a little more light and fun.
I like reading 'good' books.
Prefer authors like Deaver, Koontz, and Patterson.
