Maybe if Neopets was a lot younger it would work.

When I think about how successful Pokemon has been over the years between movie deals, TV series, games, trading cards, and all kinds of merch; it sucks neopets never managed to achieve that. Neopets has had a lot of those extensions of it's brand, but nothing ever took off nearly as successfully. I feel like there's been so many stories & worlds that there's endless possibilities for more depth.
Do you think it's a failure of the way Neopets has been managed over the years, or do you think Neopets could never be a compelling enough story/brand to get even some of worldwide popularity & success Pokemon has?

I don't think nintendo would a take a risky choice like that, they always go for the secure: mario, zelda, pokemon. They even have a game online like a pokemmo or something
Personally if they got Neopets.com for a cheap price they could definitely improve the site
I don't think Neo is their kind of thing and they'd have no interest in it honestly.
If they listened to the users and put in effort, that would help, but I don't see anything else really working.
At about 19bil in net worth i would take a shot at it. I think a lot of people can easily improve it, just need to actually put work into the whole site (instead of focus on one area, cough cough nc mall). Literally tnt doesn't focus on any other area, even if it's a little bit of work a day i think anyone can.
I damn well would not pay 160m for neo though. Even if i was balling. Well i am balling, but even if i were bill gates or nintendo i wouldn't pay that much.
Fuck, if i won the powerball and i was the only one with a billion i would of taken lump sum, BOUGHT neopets and hired real fucking people.

There's no way neo is worth anything close to 160mil now. I can't really see any big company buying it though. The site needs such a major revamp that it wouldn't be worth it after they have to invest in essentially rebuilding it.
